The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

Has anyone here compared the Slampegg to the Broughton SV-PRE?
No I haven't, but the Slampegg is based on the B15N while the SV-PRE is a solid state circuit trying to emulate the tube sound of the SVT.
I think the Sushi SBVT that is in the final stages of development will be a very close copy of the real SVT sound, it will include a custom wound inductor for the tone controls just like the real SVT and similar if not the same tube circuit (as far as I know).
If I was in the market I would wait for the Sushi SBVT pedal for sure, and even the Slampegg is getting a big brother very soon with the Grand Slampegg being released next in the Sushi lineup followed by the SBVT pedal.( again, as far as I know at least ).
Cheers
Mick

After being thoroughly delighted with a lower gain tube in V2 of my Smoke Signal, it was with giddy anticipation that I tried a 5751 in my HW Lab Rat. It was rendered useless, the Lab Rat I mean. Gain and volume maxed was 10db or more below unity. Back to the stock tube, off to a jam, and my world was set right again.
Appreciate the tip! The stock tube is working fine in mine, so I'll leave it be!...

Graphic representation of the above. Left was the latest version before the redesign, this unit was built around May 2024; right was designed this past summer and built last week. And not for nothing, but the design on the right took a lot more work and as an engineer I'm incredibly proud of it.

Big caps, relay switching and more stuff I don’t understand. Beautiful work!

Has anyone compared the Slampegg to the Arkham Oracle?
I have an Oracle, don't own a slampegg (yet), once the grand slampegg becomes available then I'll be happy to do some comparison recordings.
The Oracle is a lovely sounding pedal, but the size and power requirements make it a bit less convenient than the SB pedals, and at more than twice the price it really puts into perspective the great value that the sushi box pedals are.

If anyone is a fan of the band Goose (like me), I saw this on facebook today. Looks like a Underground Accelerator and a More on his board!

I had to look through my order history to make sure, but yeah he also got a Slampegg from me earlier this year. I know I've said it before, but as a mediocre musician, I'm always thrilled to see real musicians enjoying the things I've created.
