I still have mine. I hear a bit of low low end loss, so I think it's better suited on guitar than bass, but I still plug it in every now and then.
How do you like using it? On/off boost? Unity(ish)-volume always-on preamp?

I've always thought it would be kinda neat with a fixed high voltage, a slight gain boost, and a tone control. I dunno, just my opinion.
Any updates on the Space Heater DIY PCB? Been watching the website pretty closely for that one. Something like that is a bucket list build for me. If I do that successfully then I was thinking about making a “small” tube amp for home/studio use. Figured incremental leaps in lethal voltages was the best course of action.
I've verified the boards and from a technical perspective they're good to go, but I designed them to fit in a Hammond 125B enclosure, and the Tayda 125B enclosures I typically buy have thicker walls so I can't close the lid without grinding down the lip in a couple spots, and I'd prefer not to have to ask people to do that. So I have some 125B enclosures coming from another supplier, literally out for delivery right now, I'm going to try to do a fit check in one of those boxes tonight so I can confirm that they'll work, then I'll make them available.
The EF86 preamp above, which I've named Echo Foxtrot, also has a DIY board design that I plan to make available soon. It will fit in a 125B with the same drill pattern as the DIY Space Heater.
Sweet! I’m sure I’ll probably be ordering that preamp too when it’s available. I love to tinker (ask me about my half completed DIY euro rack synth projects sometime, PCBs everywhere ).
I don’t mind grinding here and there on enclosures. Sort of an atavistic experience… however I don’t mind buying prederiiled enclosures either if it’s the smarter option.

what a nice array of colors. I love that 41mm but wish it came in different colors. My favorites are those purple anodized he sells (in all three(?) sizes).

Well I was wrong. I have two cables, one sums the voltage and the other sums the voltage and swaps the polarity to center positive.

Years ago I was looking at old airplane pictures (as one does) and I came across a shot of a control panel that was finished with an overlapped circle burnishing pattern, and I fell in love with the look. I think I want to try again with a larger bit for bigger circles, but the general idea is there.

Yeah man, that's the stuff. Absolutely love that look.
They're coming along, and I expect to be able to get them done this weekend, but I had hoped I would already be done by now. There was an incident with the UV printer that slowed things a little, but at this point enclosures (milling, powdercoating, and printing) are 100% done and ready to go. Here's where everything stands:
- SMD pedals (literally just 6 this month) - assembled and awaiting testing
- HW Space Heater - assembled and awaiting testing
- HW Lab Rat - assembled and awaiting testing
- HW Finally - boards are assembled and ready to be put in boxes
- HW Slampegg - boards are assembled and ready to be put in boxes
- HW UA - boards awaiting assembly
- HW SS - boards awaiting assembly
- HW DW - boards awaiting assembly
