I haven't heard one in person, but I have heard good things about it. Looking at the schematic it's actually the exact same topography as the Sunn Model T, so it could be built on my Sunnday Drive circuit board with a couple component swaps. Looking at the numbers I imagine it having a hugely fat front end, and the tonestack is voiced a little different, a little more mellow trebles, brighter mids, and rich lows than a typical fender stack. Could be neat for sure.

Well it looks like Elementary is on the menu for October ordering. @casual_platypus was gracious enough to agree to try it out on short notice and put it through its paces, and it looks like it's good to go.

Oh interesting, my eyeballs skipped right over those as I was peeking at the schematic. It looks like the low range expander is wired up the same as a Fender Mids control, but the high range expander is interesting, I've never seen that before. An interesting idea that someone should probably build into a pedal to try out.

There will be a special color for October. I was originally thinking orange-ish, but none of the oranges I saw really inspired me and I found a gorgeous sparkly crimson (my mind rationalized that it looked like sparkly dried blood, still halloween-ish) I really wanted to try. I have a thing for sparkles, in case there was any doubt about that.

Speaking of sparkles, I need to order in the color I chose for November to try out and make sure it looks as good in person as it does on screen.

Lawrence had a super cool sparkly orange as the powder coat of the month at Love My Switches for July. It didn’t represent well on the screen, but it looked awesome in person. I bought a 1590A and wish that I would have bought a couple of larger ones when they were available.

So I was looking through my records, and I realized something happened that I expected to happen: since the tonestack bypass switch became the standard option for Underground Accelerator, Space Heater has stopped selling. It's a great preamp, but getting the exact same circuit with an optional tonestack for an extra $30 ($40 for HW) is an appealing enough option that there has been no SH orders in August or September, and only one in July. So it looks like Space Heater will be making its way to the archives. I still have parts on hand for a half dozen or so, I'll probably do a last run of them and sell them as in-stock at a discount to clear them out then move them out.

I'm very fond of Space Heater, but doing this doesn't bother me as it takes time to maintain designs, so letting go of the ones that aren't selling lets me spend time on new and exciting designs.

Will you keep the DIY SH available? The SH as a completed pedal really is redundant if you offer a UA with a bypass and the Finally, but it would be cool to have the option of buying a DIY kit so a person could use it to build something else like what Hasty did with his DI lunchbox.

There's a lot of overlap between Space Heater, Finally, and UA. With the tone bypass now standard on the UA, Space Heater seems like the natural one to let go.

Keeping that DIY Space Heater around would be super cool, especially if it is going to be retired. For some reason, when I find a circuit I really like I'll get several boards fabricated and just hang on to them. I think it's a relic of when I used to etch my own boards in the kitchen... I would etch them in batches because I already had the stuff out and hated handling the etchant more than I needed to. Even when ordering fancy PCB's, they always come in sets of 5 or more. It's created a habit. I've got SHO's, Tillman Pre's, Bazz Fuss, and a few euro rack synth boards just sitting in a box.

So based on my history, I'll probably order a few more Space Heater boards and add them to the same box on my bench.

Let's not call it a problem... let's just refer to it as a passion. I've been passionately thinking about a rack mounted Space Heater recently to go on my desk. I've got a 3u rackspace built into it and it would be a great addition to have available. 1u should be good... but I gotta figure out what I wanna do with the rest of that real estate. 19" can hold a lot of stuff if you plan it out well enough. Maybe a feedthrough patch bay that can run to both my Mac and my synth stuff? The more I think about that the more I like the idea... Plus it would make me get some of this extraneous stuff off my desk.

Space Heater will saturate where the MORE does not on it's own.
MORE has more depth, sparkle and that je ne sais quois

As mentioned above Space Heater can get into mild overdrive territory, whereas More stays clean and has the je ne sais quoi "extra dimension" thing going on.

Will you keep the DIY SH available? The SH as a completed pedal really is redundant if you offer a UA with a bypass and the Finally, but it would be cool to have the option of buying a DIY kit so a person could use it to build something else like what Hasty did with his DI lunchbox.

I'm planning to continue to offer the DIY Space Heater boards, that's another reason for the decision. If you still have your heart set on a Space Heater you can still build you own.

Hmm... that's an interesting thought. I could even have one with a 12AX7 for electric bass and another with a 12AT7 for upright bass or anything acoustic that I didn't want a high gain factor for. Of course I'd also want an option to run them in series.

Can concur that keeping the diy SH around is a good idea.
I bought two, built one up, "loaned" it to the guitar player in my band, and, well, it might not come back. Already have other friends asking if they can "borrow" the other one, and it's not even built yet. I haven't told any of them I have a pair of HV boards

I'm looking forward to "Furthermore" myself, which might be a 1 pedal solution for me. It'll probably have a 1 MΩ input impedance, though, so I'd still need something to clean boost my piezo EUB's output (unless it could have a 1 to 10 MΩ circuit/switch, which probably isn't likely).
