Yeah, when I went straight to a mackie active, it sounded as it should, great.
When I go to my Spirit mixer, there is no problem neither. But, when I go to the rehearsal place's Behringer, then the mentioned thing happens. My expert friend says, it's about the output impedance of the amp, and the mic input impedance of the mixer, they do't match each other somehow. He advised the XLR Jack adaptor as well.
(Yesterday I was in studio, and I went to a Mackie mixer. First into the mic input, and then to the line input, and maybe it was our imagination with the sound engineer, but as if the line (jack) sound was a little rounder, but I wouldn't bet on it. Anyway, it sounded fantastic, everything flat, just 9 o' clock VLE.Then where was a little slapping, I dialed some VPF, and there was it.)

Lesson learned here... don't buy Behringer products.

To add to this thread:

I talked to Marco during an event here in NY last october and he told me that the amp used in my cmd 121 combo is exactly the LM II. The manual of the combo had some details that made me think different, but he guaranteed me it is in fact a LM II in there. I believe this is true for the other combos as well.

Sounds good, but it's not me who is buying it. :spit:

This sound issue happened already on a festival as well. Maybe they had behringer mixer, maybe not. But they were surprised as well, and they thought that the signal is like that.
With other amp I haven't found this problem (or DI -I've used a Sansamp Bass and Para Driver DI for years), even when I went to a behringer mixer. :hmm:

The question is, why happenes this, and what is the sollution, my dear friends.

I can't answer your question but, if you already own a sansamp, that's your fix right there. Use the sansamp to send signal to the soundboard and use the parrallel input to send the uncolored signal to the input of your bass amp.

No way. Thanx for the idea, but, I want the sound of my head , which is just perfect for me (I've LMK, two channel, two sound), second, if there's a problem, the sollution for me is not digging it, and use sg else, rather solve it.
So if other amps can live without this problem, for sure it can be fixed with my head as well.
I'm just interested in, if some other markbass owners has the same problem as well, or maybe, you can check, if you are bored, if the same is happening with your amps? Thanx!

Well, if it really is some kind of impedence problem, you CAN use a DI as a "buffer" on your DI out, as well. In fact, that'd be a great way to find out if that is the issue. Maybe email Markbass and ask them what their DI output Z is? They've been pretty responsive to me in the past.

If it really is board dependent like this, it almost has to be a Z thing. You can also maybe try using the pad on the board and then just turning up the gain on your channel and see what happens.

Ive tried my SA450 DI in to a Behringer XENYX mixer, a Soundcraft Spirit Folio mixer and a Yamaha MG mixer and all sounds fine. I also DI in to a Peavey all in one PA/amp with one of my bands and again, its fine. Tried all with pre and post EQ switch
I have also not had any complaints for any sound guys at our bigger gigs.
I know that doesn't help but i think there is a problem somewhere rather it being the way it works.

Ok, I was going to wait until after my gig tomorrow to post but this is real freeekin' obvious. My LMII with my Aguilar Gs112(s) is the BOMB!!! And I suspect the LMII with your favorite cab(s) is the same. I might as well have the EQ tone controls super glued to the 12 o'clock position it sounds so good. Both of the magic knobs at 9 o'clock and it makes my G&L L1505 sound better than it ever has, it always sounds good but this is just awsome!
I am happy, happy, happy! Gas over! great basses small ,Loud,great sounding rig.... I guess I'll see you all later.:cool:

I think ive decided to get a LMII instead of a SD800. I rally dont need the extra power and im planing on using my SA450 with the UL212 and the LMII with the 1210.
Can anyone recommend a small rack case for each head. As the LMII is so small it would be a shame to put it in a large case. With the SA450 its moving around too much on the UL212. I dont use any other gear that needs racking so again, i would like a small case.

A 2U rack from SKB or Gator ?
I use a MB bag for my LMII, works fine

My STD 102hf is as loud as any 210 on the market and really has the chest thumping factor. Markbass have re-designed it with a single front port however, so I couldn't comment without trying one.

The Traveller 210 is 33lbs and tiny. It's great for the smaller gigs I do but only the bigger cab could cover everything IMO.
