Things I've Learned On Talkbass

I've learned that

  1. No matter what you post someone will come up with some meaningless exception to your statement
  2. Any thread about Jaco ends badly
  3. Every bass player, no matter how mediocre, has a following, so you can NEVER say, "so and so isn't that great" without starting an argument
  4. Many of the so called "experts" think that knowing something allows them to be rude and confrontational

Having said that, I think that the vast majority of the people are on this forum to have a good time and exchange ideas. There are just a handful that are full of themselves and seem to be trying to ruin it for the rest of us.

+1 to number 4!!!!!

I have learned that when asking for an opinion on any speaker cabinet a majority of people will describe it as being punchy. Can a 1x10, 2x12 and 1x18 all be punchy? REALLY?

At the same time, I have found a lot of great and helpful information here. Thanks to (most ) everyone.
