Pepsi (made with sugar, not HFCS) in 16 oz. glass bottles
Beer in steel cans (can't say I miss that) Edit: see post #6
Cars with big block V8s
Rotary dial telephones
Kids playing baseball that isn't organized and adult supervised
Homemade go-carts
Sting-ray bikes
Milkman
People leaving their doors/cars unlocked.
Black and white TV
45 records
Flip windows and air vents on cars

Throw back Pepsi made with real sugar can take that one off your list

OP mentioned being sued for falling off the slide. From what I remember when I was a kid people didn't do that. If you fell it was because you were clumsy or careless and not because someone provided a really cool thing to play on that, oh by they way, could get you hurt if you were clumsy or careless.

Loved the wacky packages! I had a whole big collection of those. And the Schwinn bikes with the small front tire. Man how I wanted one! haha..

Lots of car references here and I guess I miss a lot of that stuff too. Or I did until I bought my Galaxie last September. I upgraded to front disc brakes since she's my every day car, otherwise has most of the car stuff mentioned and I'll add a couple car items.

Ignition switch in the dash, headlight dimmer switch on the floor, lap seat belts only, bench seats, huge steering wheel, analog clock that can't keep time worth a damn and holy cow, look where they put the radio! I also miss seeing engine displacements in cubic inches.

Looks like the steering wheel and dash I had in my 67 Chevy Caprice two door hard-top 427 cubic-inch 325 hp before worked oversized pistons, and added a Hurst Slapstick Ratchet Shifter with a T-handle button used for line locks to smoke the tires and a supercharger under the hood for more ponies along with dual Edelbrock Carbs Carb. I drove it on the street but not street legal by any stretch. line locks to smoke the tires., Ladder bars and spacers in the springs to keep the rear wheels to the pavement chromed everything right down to the dif. cover beautiful dark blue paint job lost it in a head on collision playing chicken now I wish either one of us was a chicken Dodge van and my chevy not a pretty sight folded my front end like an accordion. miss that car!

I took many a butt whoopin with a piece of this track. It hurt your parents feet when they stepped on it and made for a convient switch to punish the guilty. I'll never forget the sound of that light flexable "ORANGE" racetrack slicing thru the air on its way to putting a sting accross my backside.

My Mom's weapon of choice as well not to mention the Johnny lighting red ones either one put a welt on you you would not soon forget he;; today Mom would just be getting out of prison for child abuse no doubt ha ha ha

Killed himself after a skipping track and later investigation that followed proved they did not sing on their hit record and had to give back a Grammy award. Neither could sing so no one cared what happen to the other one.

I think he died years after the scandal. And I don't think Milli Vanilli were actually busted by a skipping track or anything like that, it just became known that they were lip-syncing at shows and overdubbing on CDs. They were quickly dubbed Phoney Baloney, their Grammy was taken away, and they were through almost literally overnight.

They were ahead of their time 25 years ago or whatever it was. Today's generation doesn't seem to have a problem with backing track and lip-syncing shows. It's all about image.
