You only need 2 basses, different can bee, one as a prime, the other for backup, the others can be sold.

#1- 2016 Fender USA P-5 Standard Maple Black w/ Tort guard
(PRIME)#2- 2011 Fender USA PJ-4 Deluxe 60th Aniversary Sunburst w/ Black Guard
(BACKUP)#3- 2010 Ibanez SR-500 Mahogany
#4- 2007 Lakland Korean 44-01 Natural
#5- 2001 Fender USA P-4 Standard Rosewood Black w/ Tort Guard
#6- 1998 Fender MIJ Jazz 24 Flame Maple Burst
#7- 1991 Fender MIM P-4 Standard CAR w/ Black Guard (63 vintage p/u, Badass)

So it’s time to thin the heard a bit. I have 7 basses that I may or may not sell. I still have all of the regular players separated out. I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone’s opinions would be, as which to keep or sell and why.

Sell everything that does not have significant sentimental value. Keep your #1! :bassist:

Keepers: 1 & 5 mainly because they are black with tort. However, #1 gets demerits for having a Maple neck, but bonus points for being a 5 string that net out.

#2 would be a runaway winner with a tort, weighing less than 8lbs, and having flats...but such is life.

TOP 5 Standard TalkBass answers:

5. Sell the Ibby and Lakland, you only need Fenders.
4. Only 7 basses? Way under quota, keep them all and buy more.
3. Keep the ones with Tort Guard, burn the rest.
2. Please list the weight of each bass, along with pictures, and sound samples. Can't help you until this is done.
1. NO PICS NO BASSES NO ADVICE!

Just helping to expedite more constructive advice in subsequent replies.
It would be useful to know "regular players", since these could all be redundant basses you plan to sell.

Seems to me that your keeper list is more than enough - if it were me, sell all 7. Nothing particularly exceptional about any of them, and your keepers have you more than covered. Keep in mind this advice is coming from a guy with 1 P Bass, 1 EUB, 1 UB, and a fretless that I'm getting ready to sell since the EUB makes it redundant. After 50+ yrs of playing, I'm more interested in fewer great basses that I love to play vs, basses on the wall.
