Off-topic (if that's even possible in this thread...) but I bought a new preamp pedal to have some more control over my system if I have to use a DI only or without an amp at all.

It's an SVT -style preamp. While trying it at home I was initially a bit disappointed as it did seem to get too dirty even at very low gain settings but at work today (I play in a theatre) it worked great and I could push some low mid into my sound. I go straight to the board from the Nux Solid Studio IR & Power Amp simulator and use no headphones.

There was a recent Monsters of Rock cruise with a lot of 80s rocker bands. I wonder if that was what the article was covering.

You really can’t tell how bass gear will sound on stage until you are on stage.

It was covering the Outlaw Country Cruise..on Norwegian.
My drummer went on one a couple of weeks ago..Styx.Deep Puple..Foghat and others..He said it was unusualy cold and windy for the Caribbean Members of DP got Covid and were
only able to play one show.

Yes, of course but I tried it at home with the headphones knowing that I would use it "at work" with headphones too and without the amp. Somehow it ended up sounding better there and especially within the mix with the other players which is of course the main thing. And the home test was a brief one anyway.
So it looks like it will be a keeper for the gigs I won't be able to have the cab mic'ed or where I won't be using the amp at all. I'm also very interested to hear how it sounds with my Lab Series and Hiwatt amps.

I use a Sansamp VT as my DI. One reason is in case my head dies, I can just use that and still have something of a tube sound.
