Thunderbird Club

My burst VP is very dark and the white is kind of light. The former is a few months older than the white. I prefer the dark myself. Some of the lighter boards can look a little like dated paneling.

FTR - a dark stain can remedy a light-hued fb to a more "vintage" darker look. I did it on a recent bass I acquired - very easy.

To me: Epiphone Casino = Beatles

It depends on when you got on the Beatles bus. :) The most iconic guitars used by John and George were made by Rickenbacker and Gretsch, and for Paul - Hofner. Mid-late '60s is when other branded instruments were favored.

I like all Beatles phases; but what I meant to say is when see an Epiphone Casino, I immediately link to Beatles

Good tip! I used India ink a few times years ago.

India ink unfortunately has a blue-ish tint, like black marker pens. I've used a variety of stains including ebony/charcoal for a more 'ebony' look. You want it to look like actual wood in the end.

who’s that in the avatar?

Patric MacGoohan ("the Village" in the background)- from late '60s - "The Prisoner" (and before that Secret Agent Man-US/Danger Man in the UK)

That and Ludwig drums are what I picture when I think of the Beatles.
Although, at one time I wanted a rosewood telecaster (like George’s) so bad I considered making one for myself, then I realized I suck even more at guitar than I do bass. Maybe someday I’ll build a rosewood Tele bass with Tbird pups (except I’d imagine it would weigh a ton).

Philip Kubicki made GH's rosewood Tele when working for Fender in the late '60s CBS era. He also made a rosewood Strat for Jimi Hendrix who passed away before it was delivered and it has since "gone missing".

Prolly by FedEx.

Speaking of FedEx ... acting as "the squeaking hinge" - I may have finally made the connection to a responsible Fed Ex representative who is attempting to get Pat Wilkins his insurance money for their f-d up handling of my custom made/custom finished 12 string guitar body that they left on my doorstep (against their clearly stated policy for NOT leaving items un-signed for on a porch insured for $500 or more) that resulted in it being stollen by "porch pirates" - this is the time we now live in. Not resolved yet - but looking optimistic... (regardless - Fed Ex sucks!)

Good luck.
