I believe the sets in those days were completely different technologies and not compatible with US NTSC transmissions.

There were two standards - NTSC in N America and PAL elsewhere (IIRC). They were different resolutions and the conversion between them was time consuming and expensive.

There is only one Aflake movie I thought was good. I can't recall the name, but it's the one where his character scammed Iran.

I think that tour was the only time I saw them, much to my chagrin. I missed the Atlanta concert, so one of my best friends and his sister (my ex at that point) took me to Chattanooga to see them. The Tull live experience was all I hoped it would be.

I saw them four or five times. Always as an opener. One time was as an opener for Yes. Maybe the Tormato Tour? Or a second or third go round for Going For the One before Tormato? I've been to dozens of Yes shows…Tull played Heavy Horses and Songs From the Wood material. I don't really recall them headlining in SoCal back in the day. I bought the albums and still enjoy them.

She shot a movie here in Las Palmas 2-3 months ago, in the area where I go to music class, and it wasn't strange seeing her there, she had to be convinced by one of her people to go near the fans and sign autographs. Everytime I passed by she was always with a holier than thou attitude, looking down her nose at the fans or anyone for that matter. The narcissism really came off of her in waves. It was quite frankly off-putting. Can't admire or follow music or film of someone like that.

All I really know about her is that she was baseball star Alex Rodriguez's girlfriend for some time. I understand he dodged a bullet on that one.

HMV is a UK company and I'd guess that Rank is also. I've seen the Rank name and logo on films so I thought they may have been in the US.
HMV used to do record players, had a record label and at one stage had record stores as well as TVs and I think radios.

If they still sell TVs I'd guess they would be like the Aussie company AWA which is now just a badge stuck on TVs made in China or Taiwan.

The HMV image is trademarked here by RCA and has been since the early days of recordings in the early 1900's.

I'll be sending over an NDA for that real recipe. The key is the ice when blending. You have to keep the temperature down or the heat from friction changes the flavor and consistency.

That is different from my Epiohone case, which is the older, shorter version.

The older Epi cases were sturdier. I use one of those a lot for the '15 because it is so much lighter than the Gibson case.

And yet, that strategy has worked so well for AC/DC...
The bands I like tend to be those that evolve over time while remaining true to themselves.

I have never been a huge Beatles fan, however I do like an awful lot of their songs. I do think that Lennon-McCartney dominated the Beatles and am kind of glad they broke up in that it unleashed a lot of great George Harrison music.

AC/DC - Back in Black. The only album you'll ever need to buy from them to hear what all their songs sound like.

Both Ringo and George hit the ground running after the break up. Surprisingly, John and Paul didn't seem as prolific in new song releases as I thought they'd be.

i love tabouli. I sometimes get a felafel wrap with homous and tabouli for lunch. Good on a 'no meat' day or meal.


Yeah, both got it from a late 19th Century painting, evidently.

You and I are long lost brothers Geoff. I eat tabouli and hummus stuffed into pita bread as a snack all the time.

My fav punk band from that era is The Ruts. Great players. "The Crack" (1980) is a superb album.
