Well that was…about as useless a piece about strings I’ve ever read.
Remember when MTV still had music videos? His version came out. The video was terrible. It was soon after that they stopped playing videos.I was not aware of David Lee Roth doing this song, but it doesn't surprise me.

You crazy wabbitproximity was all I was going for.
Must have been a punky piece of wood. Good call returning it.Short version: strings wouldn't hold tune, kept going flat. I'd tune it and a few hours later it was flat again. Turned out the claw/tailpiece was pulling outta the body. Not good.
Totally agree, of course.nice colour -![]()

If you still have that 400+ hanging around, I’ll take it. Although a set of tubes for it are now about the price of a Thunderbird.A little background first: 1, at 70, I'm no spring chicken. 2, due to genetics my L5 disc is thinner than normal. 3, after 35 years playing soccer, my L5 is half as thick as my other discs and is also bulging. The bottom line is I'm no stranger to back issues and only have so many Bend-overs left in my back.
The best tone I've ever had was when I was running an Eden WT 300, which ran a Tube pre-amp (never cared for my 16 tube Mesa 400+). While I've always liked my Markbass (since 2005), it never sounded the same since I removed the Markbass Compressore (also tube driven) due to its large footprint and 15v power requirements.
Enter SushiBox, tube pedals that add that tube grit, sheen, sparkle, but need a boost to really shine. Enter TC Sparks, they drive the SushiBox pedals wonderfully. The Sparks have a mini toggle with 3 settings, fat, mids, and clean and I use all 3 (fat for EB-O/P with flats tone, mid for Pbass with rounds/Jazz bass, Clean for Tbird). I use all 3 running both PUPs at 10, tone wide open. Using the SushiBox pedals I can also get pick tones, wenge neck Warwick vibe, or Stingrayish tones. By running 3, I can toggle the tones I want without having to bend over or mess with my bass settings.
I’m committed to a black one that’s in excellent condition. Just trying to arrange to pick it up! Happy Birthday to me. And I’m excited to be getting it! It’ll be my fourth black Thunderbird. I’m slacking since I only have three blue ones. Maybe Veronica and I need to have a talk…FWIW, that Reverb seller with the Bach NR will take $650…I like to help spend other people’s $$$$$!
