Thunderbird Club

Such a great trio. The Who meets Cream, and then some.

This was their closest concert in the mid-west. Being in art school in KCMO then and not owning a car, St Louie would have been a bit of a hike... :(

purely an intentional scaling issue….gain is gain and remains the same….like amps that go to 11….if you plug a low output Eko bass for example, that “break up” will probably happen past the 10 o’clock mark…

Oh yeah, agreed but compared to a lot of amps especially today they have a very fast volume control.

Yes, ages ago, mostly for research papers. Several biographies in more recent memory.

One fun thing is to find and get people from different schools of thought (Freud, Jung, etc.), to start shooting each other down! A great learning experience. They often have no mercy for the other. It's like one is bashing the other's religious leader! :woot:

I actually found developmental psychology far more interesting. Though it has its fair share of internal arguments as well, but maybe not as many. It seemed have more hard data to back up theories and often more practical.
Are you a practicing therapist.?

That’s funny. I sure missed you. So glad you’re back!

Yes, let's celebrate! Watermelons on the house!

One of the things about most Ric basses (4000 series???) that has never appealed to me is the “designed by a mechanical engineering committee” look. To my eyes it’s klunky and awkward looking. But I can get over that if it plays and sounds nice.

I do like the looks of the Cheyenne model (where they offed a bunch of the bulky pieces) and I really like the look of the semi hollow body model (3000 series???).

Everyone is different. I’ve struggled to fo find a Ric rhat could work for me. Not found one yet.

ok…as I said earlier, if you say so…

Haha! It is, look it up. All speakers either have a permanent magnet or an electromagnet, it's a necessary part.

"When a fluctuating electric current flows through the coil, it becomes a temporary electromagnet, attracted and repelled by the permanent magnet"

How loudspeakers work.

in trying to explain the migration of electromagnets to fixed magnets to NEO using motors as an example I lost you….:roflmao:

I'm still a diehard Ric lover.
if the neck isn't twisted and bowed.....................

I'm in. Problem is i like certain years they were made, the not, (by todays standards of affordable), so i'm either out or get lucky.

Don't think i fit that term, "get lucky" :smug:

I like them a lot until about the mid nineties when the necks got thick, I still like the new ones though. 70's are my favorites especially the 1/2" spaced earlier ones.

just like that…… some person’s “daily”….
lucky f#%~^r!

Looks like a lot of fun if you have plenty of wrenching time. Or a bottomless pit of money to pay somebody else to work on. I wouldn't turn it down if somebody gave it to me, though...

If I'm going to take on that kind of maintenance, it needs to be a Vincent.

Everyone bashes drummers, I LOVE drummers, for me having a good steady strong drummer is probably the most important part of a band. I love hard hitters too.

"bashes drummers"? No, a good drummer is my link to playing better. However, I can do w/o 'hard-hitters'. Used to play with one - a very good drummer but him hitting-hard make everyone turn up and nuance, subtlety and finesse was out the window. If we were a metal band maybe...
