He’s been playing a MusicMan for eons now.

Since about 1996. He started to play the Stingray in 1979 and continued to the Johnson era but "Back In Black" was recorded with a Jazz Bass for example which he used also on stage too occasionally. For "Flick Of The Switch" he switched to a Steinberger and played it for a while on stage too but hated the ergonomics and had this strange P- Steinberger-Stingray bass assembled:

He also had a black one with the same pickup config 'though it's hard to say from that pic if they are Steinberger pickups:

Why did't he put the pickups in the Steinberger positions as he liked that sound is a mystery but apparently he liked that config too since had (at least) two custom basses built with that pickup style.

Just can't get him to poop in the little built in dog toilets. Even have them marked with flags, but he's too interested in other things.

Well said. I dare anyone to tell me the Carpenters’ Close to You isn’t a classic.

The test for me is if it stands on its own without the hit record's production. Many of the jazz standards in the Realbook are pop songs.

I mentioned this happened some weeks back. I foolishly hadn’t checked the strap pins on my beloved ‘15 for some time. The one at the heel of the neck loosened and led to a chip in the finish. I thought about having it fixed, but won’t worry about it. For now. Anyway, I bought felt washers and am installing them under the pins on every bass that doesn’t already have them. And I’ll make sure to check them when I give them their annual clean and polish.

Keep your strap pins snug and Play It Loud!

Thank you. It seems that I like the paring of the Forte HP with the two NV 15's and The Aguilar 751 with the Berg NV 610.
I'm not at a loss for amplification. My band seems to be completely satisfied with what they hear.
I may look to clear out my vintage Ampeg and Mesa rigs in the future. I just can't get those monsters up the stairs from the basement like I used to.
