Thunderbird Club

There was a time in my younger days when being a "dork" ( the model trains and especially the women's clothes) or admitting it publicly would have lead to being bullied etc at school, I'm still a bit cautious about the model trains :woot:

Anybody messes with you regarding how you like to dress, or your passion for model trains will be met by my people.
And they take these things very seriously.

I'll bring along The Central Scrutinizer.

Given the state of the world, I wonder what Frank would have said. Well, I can imagine.

IN a number of ways the Central Scrutinizer was prophetic. I see in Ottawa and perhaps to a lesser degree in DC a desire to enforce the laws that haven't been passed yet. P{erhaps it was always there and is just becoming more overt.

Well said my friend.

:eek:Wow! If you’re an outdoorsy person and like to hike in the woods and swim in the ocean you better know your hazardous species and what to do if encountering them.:help:
Sounds like there’s a lot of danger down under, but still a place I’d love to visit.

In the US we have a lot of aggressive land animals (Bears, Alligators, Crocodiles, Mountain Lions, Badgers, Wolverines, Wolves, Wild Boar and ex Wives) but not a lot poisonous stuff other than rattlesnakes, water moccasins a couple of spiders and divorce attorneys. Seems like weather events here - Tornadoes, Hurricanes, Earthquakes, Flash Floods, Mud Slides, Avalanches, Wild Fires, Volcanoes and Blizzards are our biggest nature related killers.

:D North America is much more dangerous I reckon. Very little interaction with our venomous stuff, and death is very rare when it does.

Our critters get overblown because they are spiders and snakes. Many humans are hardwired to dread them I think. Just leave stuff alone, and not mess with the wildlife and everything is fine.

‘Yeah, nah’ got a run in this mornings Sydney Morning Herald newspaper. A column on sportspeople’s cliches.

The Kangaroos he mentions are the national representative team for Rugby League. The Wallabies are the same hot Rugby (Union). For our round ball fanatics… the ruling body changed name some years ago to “Football” but the national team is still…. wait for it….
The Socceroos !

So I reckon while that is the case I’ll can still call it soccer.

I love most grotesque, ostentatious, heavy gas hogs unfortunately.
This is my idea of the perfect grotesque gas hog. Not because of Ghostbusters, but because my grandmother had a '59 Sedan DeVille or something like that. It was big and black. Make it a hearse or ambulance so it hauls bass gear better and it's the perfect gig-mobile. With the exception of fuel mileage. The one in this picture looks just about perfect in its understatedly over the top absurdity.

One of my uncles had a pink '59 Caddy convertible, you could see that thing coming from a mile away. I always wanted a hearse when I was a kid.

Hey, if you’re gonna go, you might as well go in style (and get there quick).

or maybe a Porsche Hearse that’s a bit less practical and a lot more gaudy…
