Thunderbird Club

Properly grenaded!

(In my best epic movie voice over)…From the ashes of a glarry burning fire rises the mighty Thunderbird!

I suspect it’s all in the comps.
GC sets their asking prices on completed sales of similar models. Their offering formula is roughly 60% of the anticipated sale price. So if they are asking $400 for these basses (because that’s what the most recent ones listed on their used gear pages sold for) the poor schmuck selling it to GC got less than $250 for it. I wanna find one of those sellers and offer them $260!

There could be a lot of reasons why someone would part with a VP at that insanely low price, one of which is stolen goods. GC does have a “no hot goods” policy, but on a mass produced bass like a VP it would be very difficult to ever enforce that policy.

Then there is mine, which is NOS from 2017.

For white bird Wednesday, video has surfaced from our show a few weeks ago.

This was this bands first show together. It went well. Lots of people and they got into it.

White custom build 32" scale bird. White acoustic 370 with 2 custom built 1 15 fiberglass cabs.

I didn't know you could play rock on a Thunderbird. Who knew? Clearly more versatile than what you hear.:smug:
Rock it!

Not that I'm happy about it, but 6 of the basses in this pic are no longer mine.

I like how the Subaru is photobombing them.

It's old, slow and ugly - just like it's owner!
I still drive it almost daily to the train station, 270K miles.

Think I posted some pics here before, a while back. More pics never hurts.

I made it. Used an epi bolt on body, highly modified Ibanez neck that I narrowed and cut off the headstock and glued up a new one. relocated bridge, finished it myself, in white lacquer with blue pearl.

Beautiful job - Done right!
Looks stock at first glance, until you take a closer look and see all the excellent detail work and unique hardware selections and the cool white color.

Guitar SG. Although I have played a Thunderbird through it on occasion just to have a little practice sound. It is better with a guitar and overdrive nicely. And pretty much right away.

I tried a bass once through mine. Fart city. Hardly surprising with a 5W guitar amp having a tiny OT and cheap 10" guitar speaker in an open cab...
