Discovered something today. George gifted me this Epi Goth neck which he or someone began work reshaping the hs. I set up my router so I could do a deep scallop similar to standard Goth hs's. The router base trailed off at the lower peaks - just like on a Goth hs. The original Gen1 T-birds had a shallow step-down border but later models like the Goth has a bevel much like this. So that 'detail' is the result of functionally routing the bevel. Also note how thick the coating is - like 1/16" thick. Not sure where this neck will end up - just had the opportunity to work on it a bit. There's a few finishing idea's that can be implemented to address the exposed wood - it'll just depend on what it will be bolted to. I've used the Epi Goth necks on a few projects - good playing affordable necks.

I'll have to redesign the tr cover to fit the slimmed-down shape.

Looks good!
IIRC - that’s the neck I did some rough cut shaping on as a test mule to see just how small I could make the stock headstock (for weight reduction) and what impact if any did it have on - neck dive, dead spots and tone. It was pretty minimal on all three and probably only noticeable if you did a side by side comparison.
