Yeah I always thought it was a really cool design. Les Paul Signature- Finding wouldn't do a Cassady signature with his pup in it, so Epiphone did. Good move, Epiphone.
Talking her out Friday night. She's already got her red dress on...View attachment 6982196View attachment 6982193View attachment 6982194View attachment 6982195
I have yet to play a Casady bass, but they sure look cool. I always seem to have one on my short list, but for some reason a Tbird purchase keeps getting prioritized over a JC purchase. Now that I’m pretty well flush with birds of every feather I might lean into a JC a bit more. Would love to hear your review on it.

Not T-Birds, But they all get along nicely. New additions to my Gibson/Epiphone Family. I bought the Blue one a Month ago for dirt Money with a minor headstock repair. I've gigged it twice and the thing just melted faces.. Killer tone and wherever I put my plucking hand makes a different tone, very versatile. Harmonics all over.
This Brown one came up on Reverb last week (I had to have it) I made an offer and now she's mine. I'm not sure why, but these are two of the best sounding and most comfortable playing instruments that I own. I'm in the Money! View attachment 6982382
Those Money basses are the Bomb! I have the two Gibson Guitar of the week basses from 2007 (lava burst SG Supreme and Blonde SG Supreme) but I’ve always wanted to add the two money basses from that year as well. I’ve heard they sound fantastic! Congrats on the excellent score.

Oddly quiet in here today. Maybe because Doug isn't on a trip to India?

Have any of you used Sweetwater's Gear Exchange? I listed a pedal there, here, on Reverb, and at work last January, and eventually quit thinking about it. Sudden'y, in May, it sold. I listed a pedal here and on GX last week, and it sold within two days on GX. Since I don't demand funds in my bank account, but let Sweetwater put it in a gift card, there are no fees. Since Reverb became a more expensive proposition, as well as a major headache getting my money transferred to my credit union, I think GX, here, and the list at work are what I'll stick with going forward. Maybe GC; I haven't tried them yet.
GC’s used gear purchase formula is to offer you roughly 50 to 60 percent of the average selling price on eBay for your item. Sometimes that’s not a bad deal if you’re talking minor money and don’t want the hassle of dealing with eBay or Reverb or TB buyers plus shipping headaches. I’ve sold plenty of gear to GC and never really felt like I got a bad deal all things considered.

I was thinking they had something like Gear Exchange, but maybe I misremembered. If I couldn't get what I wanted by selling directly to another player, the sell-to-GC route is a viable option.

I hear ya. GC does have a special deal for used gear being exchanged for new gear (not sure if it applies to used gear purchases).

That said, Non advertised (word of mouth) Player to player sales are always my preference. When that’s not in the cards and if the item being sold is of relatively low value (under $1000) I’ll just dump it at GC, get maybe $600 for it and not have to deal with packaging, shipping costs, shipping fiascos, buyers suffering from buyers remorse and so on. The few hundred bucks I loose is just as easily lost eating dinner out at a restaurant a couple of times in a month.

Ok, word of mouth, somebody buy my Super 800

I have plenty of gear I don't use any more and probably never will use. Some of it might sell used at GC if they will take it. None of it is worth much, I don't think. It might be worth taking all of it all at once and see if I can get a cup of coffee at least.

I used it and sold phaser pedal that didn't work. (Got a heck of a deal on it from SW and was able to sell it for what I paid for it.) I had it listed here and received no interest. Then a short time later tried SW and it sold after a little while. Like you I let them hold my money to avoid fees thinking I can always get some strings or something. I would gladly use it again while listing here as well.

Ashdown guts. I took it out to air can it and blow out any dust from over the years. I do it on the deck so my neighbor thinks I'm smart and know what I'm doing. Actually just don't want dust in the house.

I know some fool who sold a Peavey Mk III to GC and got a decent price. Better than Music-go-round by $75. One Item (really nice gig bag) I took in they were not interested in. I thought they would given it was nicer than anything they had. I got it free so sold it cheap elsewhere. But I think GC is a good place it get rid of something if not needing top dollar or it's heavy and shipping will kill you.

No, but he replaced it with a better tube, so I happy with the change. Thanks for mentioning that though. Very valid point if he installed something crappy. He wanted warmer and got it with the Eden tube, which is exactly in my direction. When I asked he said he should have mentioned it, but it was a good many years ago he didn't think of it until I asked. He has has it at least 10 yrs. Seems like a nice guy--from east AZ. We been having some nice bass discussions since the sale (ebay).
Does he know Andy?
