As mentioned earlier yesterday when picking up my Portaflex amp I stumbled across a GC Clearance sale on a bass I’ve been eyeing for a while. A brand new Epiphone Jack Casady for a price lower than many of the used ones I’ve been looking at...View attachment 7017105
Oh yeah- mine was on clearance too- but my neck markers are just slightly to the left of center looking at it straight on. But I'm also slightly to the left of center, so I generally don't notice. 🙂

Played two sets last night, set 1 with the bird,

And set 2 with the JC.

The CP is always my favorite player. Feels natural to hold and deal with, sounds great and punches better than a Fender.
The JC is very much a good surprise and really fun to play. I would need nothing else if I had just these two.

Huh. I don’t know enough about this. You’re new Ashley doesn’t give you the same tone? I don’t have the time until I stop working to do a deep dive into learning the ins and outs. But I’m way happy with what I get from the preamps in the Carbine, the TT800, and the SVT.
The newer Ashly is a completely different type of EQ.
Ii’s a studio grade piece.
Designed nothing at all like the SC-40.
It’s truly a dedicated para eq.
The SC-40 is a way different animal.

Interesting weekend: Friday night we played at the Ft. Pierce Elks club. We're pretty popular there but, like many a holiday weekend, places are either MT or packed. They weren't packed.
Ya coulda tossed a grenade in there and it only would've hurt the band. However. Late Friday afternoon, we got a call about a band cancelling(singer injured)at the PSL American Legion asking if we were available. Yep. So we bailed them out for which they volunteered to pay us an extra $100. We said "no, that's OK, we'll do it for our regular fee".;) Yeah, right! Anyhoo, had a good, fun crowd there for the full 4 hours [our only 4 hour gig:banghead: ]. But a good time was had by...well, most. Someone's always gotta BMW*.
FWIW, TBird>Rumble 100, both nights.

Interesting, someone noted the bridge didn’t look original on that Greco II. My guess is it was too shiny for a Greco of that age. I am going to guess you (George?) were correct. Same bass, same exact set of photos, two different brokers, one of these things is not like the other.

I would be passing on that, the replaced wiring and this business with the bridge are red flags. Greco II's aren't so rare that another isn't going to come up.

And Greco because of the club, esp. Veronica!

They refused to send a photo of the control cavity saying it was too much work. Also, they started replying from a different eBay account. I took a big pass. Too bad, a nice condition Greco II would be a perfect edition to the rack. Oh well.

Love the smile Chuck! Not a bad bird either!

Nice one. Good color!
I'm also thinking about strings for mine. I think mine has Roto 66s now.
Not sure what direction I’ll take the JC, maybe some black tape wounds, could be interesting.

Love love love it!

Yikes, musical chairs with bridges. Pass on this one brother.
Ah, yes, the period correct Hipshot…
LOL

Thinking of some "rock" flatwounds to put on my 'Bird, to complement my round-wearing Rickenbacker and Steinberger. I'm down to La Bella 760FL, Rotosound RS77LD, and Alice A629 (sort of a more scooped, lower tension RS77 on a budget). My heart says Rotosound, but my wallet says Alice. Any nsights?
Ernie Ball Cobalt Flats...
