But not really a fan of this button location..

But this 79 does NOT have a bout button (could have sworn my 77 did) and I don't feel good about drilling here......hmmm...

Interesting that yours doesn't have a strap pin on the upper bout, both of my 76's do/did, the green one got filled in during the refin and when I came to pick it up from Mike, he asked me asked where I wanted the pin - on the heel, I don't have any problem with tipping forward. The purple one has 3 pins, but I never use the one on the upper bout.

My ‘77 has two matching buttons and one that is different. I was told that the original bout button was moved to the heel. With the different one put in the bout location. If that’s correct, the ‘77 came with the button installed on the bout.

sorted......what would have been a casual drive to the local (now non existent) GC turned into this cannibalizing effort......to think some enjoy doing stuff like this....:bawl:

totally, why I was asking, I could have sworn my 77 had 3 pins as well....

My 64 has heel and upper bout. All the buttons match and look old.

Wow. Sorry to see this. It seems these are a crapshoot. Yeah. Return until you get an acceptable one. Seems to be the issue with some of these. A few sharp fret ends is one thing. But an overall terrible end dress job is unacceptable. As are a whacked finish and a nut that looks to have been cut by a kid at GC using a butcher knife.

While I rarely play my ‘17 VP, it is the epitome of a well crafted instrument that far exceeded the price.
Same with the ‘19 I got, aside from the tweaks it is great.

See all the space between the flakes at the tip of the headstock? It’s worse on the body.
Dull spots, that the clear coat isn’t thick enough or burned through during polishing.
With the amount of orange peeled I suspect way too little clear coat.

But that nut and fret ends? My 129.00 Squier Debut was better!!!
I’m bummed and pissed.

Might just be my imagination, but I’ve seen several US sourced Purple sparkles and they all have relatively sparse metal flake. However, the Canadian sourced Purple Sparkles I’ve seen all had abundant flakes. You might want to look into a Canadian replacement from Long & McQuade(?) or some other source that has a good return policy.

Good point! I bought mine used from @Bulltrout who lives in ... Canada. It has sparkle for days.

Went through ZZSOUNDS.com
Return policy is lenient.
Return label is in my inbox. Item is packed.
Will get replacement overnight.
If this one sucks, will return for refund.

Just checked, L&M has none of the purple sparkle, only Ember red, Silver and Inverness Green :-(

Also purchased this with a payment plan.
Could put on a card, but wish to avoid if I can paying interest:)

They just converted all the roads in our area to favor bicycles over everything else. Bicycles get an entire lane for themselves on what were previously two and three lane roads. There are bottlenecks at every intersection now during commuter hours. Ridiculous, given how few cyclists there actually are in a town of 450,000. Please. Get off my lawn.
Louisville made a bike path all across the city. Including some of the chemical and industrial parts where my wife worked where only a moron would want to ride a bike for a number of reasons. Expanded the roads for miles for likely 20 people--maybe a year. Only a city would think that was a good idea.

Sometimes they're trying to encourage people to bike. But usually you have to do more than build it and wait for them to come.
