I do some finger tapping and I can get pretty silly about it at times, its great for warming up the fingers but otherwise I use it very rarely with my band and when I do its pretty low tempo for short periods of time. What this guy is doing doesnt have a soul.
Actually, what this guy is doing could just as well be done on a typewriter (remember those) and it would be every bit as musical. I'd go so far as to say, his bass playing skill level as demonstrated in the video is pathetic at best and annoying at least. His speed, finger dexterity, muscle memory and mastery of certain very rarely needed playing techniques borders on brilliant, but if that's all he has in his toolbox he's not gonna build anything of value from a bass playing career standpoint.
But what do I know, I dislike even modest amounts of slap, pop and tap in actual music. Just sayin.
Edit: OMG it's contagious...
Remind me to NEVER pick up or buy a Sukop bass, lest I fall into this horrible wankfest hell hole. Just flip me a Bird and I'll be perfectly happy.
Anyone who questions my integrity and or well being really oughtta dig down deep and feel for me ya know what I mean?, if Ive ever been misunderstood its because I come from Winnipeg bum f##k Manitoba. But such a cool 'stache. Could have been on a 70s cop show.We have albums full of these awfully textured and fading rounded cornered pictures from throughout the 70's and early 80's. We are all products of our generation.
Looks like dad would have liked to have slept in a little longer.![]()

That's close to the price they seem to fetch over here. Looks like a fair deal with a case. I'm surprised it hasn't chosen one of you yet...Thanks Kat,
This is Greg's one and a link to it on Ozbass.

I have played it. It is a beauty.
You would know it by the extra strap thing on the back that he put on.
I have thought about Greg's Orville a few times, but I have my sights set on a few other things. I will get one or two of the Epi Vintage Pros and I keep a little reserve gig money in a case a Pink Paisley MIJ Telecaster Bass comes up at a reasonable price.
I believe you are correct. With the abolition of the penny, you can put in your $0.05 or say nothing...
I still believe that the abolition of the penny was a scheme to increase income tax and stifle political debate.
I thought all Beachcombers wasBetter be the original Beachcombers, not that crappy remake the CBC did.
, original and remake. I like Relic though but I would love to have seen him played by Jack Nicholson instead.Anyone who questions my integrity and or well being really oughtta dig down deep and feel for me ya know what I mean?, if Ive ever been misunderstood its because I come from Winnipeg bum f##k Manitoba. I tried man. I really did... for you. I made it almost halfway through... but then, I heard a click. I looked down, and was surprised to see a gun in my hand. But how? I hadn't left this spot. I hadn't taken my headphones off. How did this gun get in my hand? How did the hammer get cocked? Why was it moving towards my head? I'm glad I came to when I did! Who knows what would've happened had I not stopped the video when I did! Clearly the Canadian government is working with local cable access on some kind of population control manifesto. NOBODY could sit through that and survive! Have you been tested yet? You know... to see what the long term effects of prolonged exposure might be?
You poor, poor bastard...![]()

now you see what Ive lived through?!. Im glad you stopped the video when you did Dude, I didnt mean to cause anyone harm. I don't think they're unique at all just a Tbird/Explorer-Fodera mash. Not my cup of tea and those vids are everything that's wrong in the bass world today. Big IMO.
Are those the canadian Carpenters?
Please do tell me you did not watch all 13:39 of it, you couldnt, you wouldnt really do that.......would and could and did you really?.13:39. I thought I could find something good to say about them other than thank god it's over. I got nothin. The Beachcombers, eh? Bring it on.
