That bridge pick up is starting to feel like a tone control. It may have to come out. Even worse, Might have to figure on how I can afford a build from Carlo.

On that bass, with the Lollars and the other mods, even I would prolly leave things as they are -- it's not like it's a $60 Chinabucker. Think of all the things you don't need to spend money on -- lunch, takeaway food -- and you can save enough for a Cataldo in no time.

Agreed. I'm stuck in NJ for the weekend and they are driving me crazy. So my mind wanders.

Decent stock strings, crying for a set of Rotosounds. Set mine up got the action nice and low.
Got my stock string action super low with no problem. Bridge is nearly resting on the body and string to fret clearance at the 12th fret is less than a dime. About the same clearance on the front pup and a bit more on the bridge pup. Plays fantastic. Was leaning towards Roto 77 Jazz flats or La Bella flex flats. Which Rotos were you thinking it needed?

Would that be them big ass Fruit Eating Bats? :)

The same. Sitting there wondering what the noise is, and it's the trailing edges of their wings vibrating as they glide in to land on the fig tree across the street -- that how close they were.

Speaking of low action... it jumped again on my 'Ray yesterday. I've spoken with the guys at the Bass Shop. I gotta send it back to them. If they can't figure it out, they're gonna send it to Music Man. It's great they're ready, willing, and able to help me out... but it sux cuz I could be without it for months:(

Is the truss still doing the auto unwind thing?

Never seen anything like that before. If I had to guess I'd say the rod is maxed out in the direction you're turning it or possibly it was installed wrong or defective. The likelyhood of it being installed wrong or defective is pretty low. Musicman is known for their quality products and flaw free basses. Never had to return anything from them so not sure how easy they are to work with. Hope all works out well though.
