LOL - it was a freak accident. Ended up costing me more in the long run. Like many times in my life, I'd have been better off if I kept my mouth shut.
Edit alert- sorry...Mine doesn’t have that finely tuned radar for string changes, but she notices the different basses for sure. She likes that I hung em all up in the music/bike room because she likes the way they look. She’s bummed I sold the ‘76 P because she liked the way it looked. Especially since I sold it to get another bass (‘02 ‘Bird) that looks a whole lot like one I already have (‘14). She also told me yesterday that I can’t sell my Gamma P bass because it’s the ‘prettiest’ one hanging on the wall. Fine with me as I wasn’t planning on selling it anyway
I can't sell my upright, which I never play, or trade it for a bass I'd like to have, because my wife loves it. She 's always telling me I should play out at old folks ' homes...

My hubby recently did a double-take and then pointed at 4 basses (there's a 5th in the shop getting work done... shhh, don't tell him) and my pedal board and asked why I need "so many"??? I promptly began explaining to him the differences between them all (while conveniently ignoring the fact that I have 2 of the same model Tbirds in diff colors!) I just started throwing stuff at him he didn't understand... P-J vs 'buckers, passive vs active, overdrive vs fuzz, etc etc. He cut me off and that was it. Don't think he'll ask again. And I escaped the conversation safe before he asked about the different color, but same, Tbirds. He gives me a bit of grief, but I know he loves when I play songs that he likes. I know deep down, he secretly thinks me playing bass is cool. So does our 12 year old daughter. She's actually my toughest critic... "Mooom... what was THAT?!!"
My wife has started the "why do you have so many of the same bass" conversation several times. When I start to explain how they all sound different even tho they are the same bass because they are different years. (ask Duke about this. He knows) I just point out the expensive purse collection and how she needs all those different styles for her different occasions.
I have way too many basses and no talent so she is right to wonder about the collection.
I think a 'purse' is what we call a handbag or even just a 'bag'. I have a small bag but it's not really a 'handbag'. More of a pocket on a strap for keys, cardholder, phone and sunglasses. Anything more is an encumbrance.

I don’t know if it’s an Italian thing, but my grandma’s purse/handbag has to be big enough to put the restaurant menu and the salt & pepper shakers in it… yes that actually happened.

Thanks! So, do these denim or corduroy jackets need to have patches on them to be considered a "trucker jacket" or is that just the Aussie (?) euphemism for that type of clothing? I don't mean to be a wise ass. I find these things fascinating (e.g., trunk vs. boot).
I lurked into a GC this evening to noodle around on one of those Ampeg PF-50t (50w) small tube bass heads. Man, my ears are still ringing. It is amazing how something that seemingly small can generate that kind of umph!

Having used pockets and a small clutch depending on how I'm dressed, I prefer the clutch
The Levi's 557xx Type III jacket, commonly referred to as the Trucker Jacket. It's pretty much the thing you think of when you hear Denim Jacket, but the cut and style can come in a variety of materials.
No patches. I think it refers to the specific style of denim jacket. I'm a bit dense in this department.
