The key in life is to find what makes YOU happy, recharges your batteries and gives you hope for another day. For some people that means playing bass on stage or in the studio, its their job and they get paid for it. For others it's a hobby or stress relief. What you do shouldn't matter much, it's why you do it that makes all the difference.

Sometimes, the things that you love discharge your batteries. For me, work is like that. I love doing it. I have a rare set of skills that I can apply well and I can get paid well for it. Those Hex numbers are accurate. Woulda went with Binary... but there are 10 problems with Binary:
1) It's too common

A Global Business Manager in a large corporation in charge of all R&D Engineering Services, Facility Design, Machine and Fabrication shops and Health, Safety & Environmental operations at several hundred sites around the globe. I was in video conferences nearly every day and spent about three out of four weeks each month in international travel. It was physically and mentally draining, but I was a workaholic and loved it. I picked up the bass as a hobby to help unwind, decompress and manage stress. Playing bass became my energizer, it sounds like it's yours too.

I was in video conferences nearly every day and spent about three out of four weeks each month in international travel. It was physically and mentally draining, but I was a workaholic and loved it. I picked up the bass as a hobby to help unwind, decompress and manage stress. Playing bass became my energizer, it sounds like it's yours too.

I think yesterday was the last ski day. But an absolutely fantastic day for it.

I would but:

1. I just "plunked down" for a Lollar neck pickup and wiring harness stuff for my "Poor Man Cataldo" Jazz-Bird. That stuff comes tomorrow. I also snagged a Ditto Looper for practicing/composition stuff.

and I love the T-Bird I have. I would only end up "upgrading" it to be like the one I already have.....

I can see that.

For me, I wanted to do music for a living because I didn’t want to get sidetracked by anything else. And though it’s my job, it’s also my hobby. Some gigs are for money, some are for the soul and occasionally you get both things at once

Just got my first Thunderbird! It's a 2013 model; I stumbled across it completely unexpectedly at a local used gear emporium. This has the skinny neck, which I like. I've had some other Gibson basses (Ripper, Money, Midtown, EB) but never a T-bird until now. I'm looking forward to seeing what I can do with it.
