For me, it's "New York, New York" from playing in a hotel lounge in Miami Beach. We'd get that request(with a tip) 3-4 times a night. This may come as a shock, but a 'shipload' of New Yorkers come to Miami Beach every season. It was part of the gig(sigh).

:bag: Yes - Layla, the song Eric Clapton wrote, played and sang on in his project Derek and the Dominos which was post being associated with Bonnie and Delaney. :)

The recreation of this in "Bohemian Rhapsody" is truly incredilble, "Hammer to Fall" just kills!

The recent film is an example of how art can inspire one to check out the subject covered - I didn't follow Queen back then but knew their radio hits from hearing them everywhere. Once I saw the movie, (which is very well done) I watched a documentary on them and this 1985 Live Aid performance and was blown away. I'm totally a fan now!

I was never a Queen fan when they were popular, but I didn't object to their music. I would still not classify myself as a fan, but I do like their music much more now that I did then and listen far more regularly. Enough that I saw a tribute act recently. And it is fun to play. It takes a great singer to deliver however.

Here's the south end of Seattle's downtown, the brick building in the foreground is King Street Station (now Amtrak) once the western terminus of the Great Northern Railroad - for you train buffs. The tall light gray building is the Smith Tower, once the tallest structure on the west coast. My work is just to the right, and my train lets me off just a little to right of the this shot. Kinda fun, I'm driving a total of 5 miles a day now, just to and from the parking garage that's near my house.

As I've said, it's been a busy time lately and just before the band's last show on Halloween I managed to fry the voice coil of one of the speakers in my GK Goldline cabinet. I'd really thought that I'd only use it for solo practice upstairs in the house, but over the past year or so, it's come out to quite a few shows. Unfortunately, the 700RBII probably pushed it too far and caused this - totally my fault.
After looking around for a month or so online I remembered to check out The Bass Shop, glad I did!
Here's an early SWR Goliath SR that I got for a really good price on Black Friday, I haven't had the chance to play all the 'Birds through it yet, but I really dig the raw tone from just the bass/amp/cab right now, it's very articulate, but with much better low end than I was getting out of any of my GK cabs. So a big switch for me after more than 15 years of GK!

Your pictures of Seattle are making me homesick!!!

I used to live in Renton and worked at Boeing on I5 just south of your pic.
My daughter has followed in my footsteps, she works for Boeing in Renton but lives south of you in Pierce county.
I get up that way at least once a year, and I always enjoy my stay.
Maybe one of these trips I can come check out your band.

Same here, although I love BM's tone, Freddie's singing and the kickazz tightness of the band they never did it for me.....not enough American blues roots in their sound..

Very clear and a little cold here today @42 degrees, I'm enjoying the new routine more and more, I hardly drive now!
If you're planning a trip up let me know, I'm always up for a beer or two - there's a house full of Thunderbirds as well!

After The Goldrush is an American/Canadian classic. I suspect our friend @GBaseNorth will disagree...but it’s all good.

With you there. I liked Sheer Heaet Attack, but they lost me with A Night at The Opera. Didn’t give them much notice after that. I appreciate them more now.
