Daft. Sell in haste, repent at leisure.

Naw...I have more basses than room at the moment and it wasn’t getting played. Killer bass, but I can find another if need be. That said, I’d rather still have that than several of the basses I do have. The herd will be reorganized within a year.

I can think of any number of red flags. One being under 30; kids don't understand good music. Just want to play Brittney Gaga, Lady Swift, Katy Spears, and that annoying Canadian superhero Justice Beaver.

I play with tons of folks under 30 and that ain’t my experience at all. There’s plenty of young musicians who get it in spades. Lots of reasons for a 25 year old not to play with a 50 year old. Image is important to some bands. Older players ain’t gonna camp out in a van for months touring for free beer and sandwiches either.

I appreciate this take on the song also. Despite playing very true to the original arrangement, they have made the song their own. I am looking forward to seeing the Headstones in about 6 weeks; should be a really good show. I got very tired of Led Zeppelin because all the radio stations played the same 5 songs all the time. I didn't listen to any for more than a decade. But I have since gone back and explored the less played tracks and have a whole new appreciation. But, I still turn it off if it comes on the radio because it will be one of the 5 tracks that are over played.
You still have radio in Canada that plays rock? I need to move up there.

The nut on my Bird is sharp at the ends. Once in a while, esp on a specific song part, etc, I'll gliss down hard all the way past 1st fret and impale my index finger's 1st knuckle on that gnarly plastic pike. So I filed the nasty little bugger down and it's a little less disagreeable.
I think it's about time I put a few things on my terms. Sometimes life needs a mod.

Here's the sharp end I left on the bass side. No problem there. View attachment 3396706

Here's the treble side, filed down. I was careful to not scrape the nearby wood and its finish. :)

Tough to see I guess, but it didn't take much to make it reasonable.

A real man would bleed on the bird before making any changes...

I kinda thought I was done with heavy rock, but then I got a sub gig playing it and I realized it's my thing. Not the only thing I can do, but I'm good at it and gosh darn it, people like me! Why stop?

I look at it more generally, including rock of any form.., at the end of the day it's all music, and those who are gifted with the want/need to be part of it (music) in any way, shape or form - to suppress the creative urge is not acceptable. I know people who are not musicians who absolutely love music - and they have all their lives so far. To feel like that and also make inroads to play music - that is who we are and never let anyone tell you otherwise.

Yeah, I was being glib and looking for an excuse to say Justice Beaver.
