Just bought a "mint" white Epi VP T-Bird from Sam Ash Direct. I can't tell from the pic if it's an older bass with taller tuners and possibly lighter or not. Won't know more till it gets here next week I assume. Comes with a 1 yr warranty. Hopefully it's a good one as there is no Sam Ash within an hour and half from here. I got nervous after buying it so I'll just stay that way till it gets here. Now I'll have a less expensive T-Bird than my '64 or '76, and it will sound different than both of them. Hopefully lighter than my '76 as well!

Hmm, sounds like there was a problem that turned up with the finish and he's got to respray it.

Yeah, sorry, I don't know much about painting like this. My response was funny in my head, but I think I ended up sounding like a dick.

That was funny. Not even glib. A tad insensitive, perhaps, but it's humor! So it's understood to be part of the deal.
Meanwhile I'm looking forward to seeing this bass get paraded around!

I think it's the style of knobs on your bass. Bells, they're called... I guess Fixer was mad at them.

I miss that guy.

The Fixer hated bell knobs and liked top hats. And took great pains to explain the differences (that most of us ignore). Every time I see bells I think about his great (well described, not big) outrage at putting bell knobs on basses.
Yeah, whatever. I like them and they go to 11.

I'm with you. Going up to 11 is more important than style. I would happily replace top hats with bells that go to 11 (top hats are not available in a form that goes to 11). But @theFixer hated them. I recall several amusing exchanges about knobs with him. Ahem.

And I still tag him in posts even though he has not been checked in to TB in 6 months. Just in case he does check in, he should know that he is remembered.
