I used to work(driving)nights, sleep days. I could go there at 3AM and have all my shopping done in 15 minutes. Kinda got used to it.I loathe shopping there. Thanks, tho.
Sawzall, duct tape, crescent wrench and a BIG hammer-all set.Computers? Let's talk about CroMagnon power tools!

Too many large snakes('cept for the ones in the Everglades). With the money I save by shopping wisely, be it Walmart, Ebay, or direct from China, I'm able to own my house, shop, three sports cars, a truck , and four motorcycles free and clear...oh yeah, and about 40 basses nd a dozen amps.
A corporation is a corporation is a corporation. The only place I won't shop is Amazon.
I draw the line at paying more than I have to for the same or equal quality item.
Have 'em on my 67 NR-love them.View attachment 3424506
So they arrived. Thank you Jason. Going on the ‘15 this weekend. Any tips? Neck relief, bees d**k string height, pickup height? I’ll do a full setup with fret polish, F1 on the board...I’ll keep them on for a while and give them a shot. I’m replacing 7ender 7250s (nothing particularly wrong with them) I think. But I play the ‘15 the most of all my basses and love the feel of flats. Can’t wait to find out how they’ll work.
7-8 AM Sunday morning works for me! Everyone else around here is getting ready for church except a few fisherman.Iused to work(driving)nights, sleep days. I could go there at 3AM and have all my shopping done in 15 minutes. Kinda got used to it.
They ain't fer evahbody.
I’ve tried a few Behringer bass amps over the years and didn’t like any of them.So my brother, a decent guitar player (better than me) came across a 15 watt Behringer bass amp in a thrift store. It was a faux old school style combo amp. He gave them $20 for it. It sounds surprisingly good with our Strats. Really good. I plugged a couple of basses in. Unusable for bass. At any volume and at any setting.
It pays the bills. Makes me more money than anything else I'm good at.
Or in my case, sleeping. For another 4-5 hours.7-8 AM Sunday morning works for me! Everyone else around here is getting ready for church except a few fisherman.
I’m Frugal. That’s the Scot in me. Drive a Subaru. Research before I buy. But, i’ll Pay a bit more if something is available from a local person I know and trust. This philosophy has worked well over the years. Never have a problem exchanging anything or getting a problem sorted out. YMMV....for various reasons
Awesome, I play through a old Hartke 410 cab that used to be a combo that’s been through a lot and still rocks. I look at the newer cabs from them all the time and may still get a couple in the future.I've played through that for years. It's the "house" bass rig at the practice space. I like it. The overall sound is pretty raw, which suits me just fine.
Have a similar drummer situation. Tonight he brought beer. Granted, it was shite but at least he tried.I think bass players are usually the ones to do the lions-share of band work. I know that's true with my band. I have help from our guitarist, but as for our drummer (love him) showing up is as much as we can expect. I'd like if they could help beating the bushes for gigs and going over material before rehearsal - but it is what it is and as long as I stay on top of things, it's all good. Doing a good show together is always my payback.![]()
V, that first pic is just about the coolest one I've seen of you.Donnervogel Donnerstag.

A pre show pic of me and my bandmate Ginger, she's simply one of the finest, coolest people I'll ever know.

I’ll join in on the Ernie Ball love. I put these on the VP at the beginning of the month, took it to practice tonight. It sounded amazing. I was really shocked at how clear they were - fingers & pic. There’s a little bit a boom but I think it was most likely my bad job in EQ’ ing. I will definitely buy a second set and see how things go.
Was playing 90s.
So we’ve had so much rain and snow, fly fishing (dry fly) won’t begin anywhere close to me until July/August I’ll probably go to church.7-8 AM Sunday morning works for me! Everyone else around here is getting ready for church except a few fisherman.
I think those are the Cobalt rounds. Prolly sound amazing. But since our group does 60s-70s, a little bright.Wait?, am i to understand there's another Cobalt flat lover here?

View attachment 3424389 Ok I’m skipping a hunch of posts(336 to be exact) and that count is likely going up as I type.
Om on with the post, the Labellas arent cuttin it! Dang that was more money than I wanted to experiment with. Next up - love their flats, lets see what rounds do on the Allen Woody. Heck Allen used rounds.
I use the hybrids 45 -105 on my USA Peavy Foundation with the ferrite pickups. I love them on that bass. Lots of J-like tone. Almost birdy. They do have a rep for not lasting very long. The set I’m using has about six months on them, but admittedly, I have have too many basses so they have relatively few hours on them. Sound great to me. And the price is right.
