Thunderbird Club

I’ll take that as a no :D

Good guess! ;) Hey - love the pics of the bats and tree - I always thought bats did their upside-down sleeping in dark caves! So they 'hang-out' in broad daylight? And that tree - so cool. What type is it? (just saw it - fig tree!)

Thanks @JIO it was a nice walk. Beautiful day in Sydney. Can you guess that we are almost at the (Sydney) Kingsford Smith AirPort ?

I can guess where all the figs go...
...through the bats I think :D

NSW always reads as Not Safe(for) Work in my mind.

Once upon a time Manny's was one of THE big shops in NYC (New York City).

Yes, I'm aware of the NYC shop. The Manny's near me has actually opened and I went for a skeg earlier. Amp selection isn't great but they have a lot of guitars and some Gibson basses coming. Good selection of pedals (most shops only carry Boss) and upstairs ... PA gear, samplers and all the stuff I'm really interested in atm. My cynicism was misplaced.

They are Grey Headed Flying-Foxes.

Some Grey-headed Flying-fox facts

  • The scientific name of the Grey-headed Flying-fox is Pteropus poliocephalus
  • They are warm-blooded, nomadic, social mammals.
  • They have a wing span of roughly a metre, and weigh up to a kilogram

Where there is water and flying foxes ... there are snakes. Lots of snakes.

Yes. The path is pretty clear though. None seen. A couple of lizards.

The Black Cockatoo was a beauty, but a plaintive call... not sure if he was calling for help or warning his mates that we were on the way. Plenty of people out, quite a few with dogs

Lads/Lasses: My pups are developing a buildup. Might be from me - sweat or oils from my palm as this is where i tend to mute.

Thunderbucker site says to use toothpaste. Anybody else had this issue and have a remedy or can confirm the toothpaste approach?

THX
Toothpaste would be a good start. It's not that abrasive and works well on watch crystals that get a little nicked or hazy. (A watch is a time keeping device that preceded the phone.;)) Possibly a little window cleaner on a cloth followed wiping clean and dry might as well if there's not much to the build up. Just don't spray it on the pup. It can go places you don't want it to go.

My Lollar pick ups have done the same thing. I just considered it "personal relic-ing". I like the lived in look....

Those pickups are done. It is only going to get worse. Send them to me for proper disposal.

And if you get blood on them, not only is the problem worse, but I may have to charge you a small fee for the disposal of the biohazard waste. Know what, because you are Thunderbird player, I'll waive the biohazard disposal fee. Just trying to help out.

They are cute little critters! Wasn't aware of the connection of foxes to bats.

So people, is automotive vinyl wrap ok/good/terrible for bass finishes?

I have seen it on basses and guitars but no clue what happens once removed. There is a place in Tucson that wraps guitars and basses and they claim it can be removed without damage.
