Thunderbird Club

I spent a little time with this over my weekend, don't have it down yet, but I'm getting there.

This is fun too, sped up just a little over the studio, my band *might* be able to pull this off.
No poseur auto tune lip sync BS here.
Damn, he was incredible.

I still can’t believe he’s gone. I like this to help work out China Girl:

Interesting take. I started playing piano at five and have no recollection of not being able to differentiate instruments. No wonder most everyone I know thinks I’m odd.

Clearly you have always been a musician. The above concept is related to the fact that unless you are playing a known song note for note, almost nobody other than a musician has any chance of noticing mistakes unless they’re pretty bad.

Drop (liquid) - Wikipedia

Today I learned that there are scientists that have nothing better to do than measure the size and speed of raindrops. Although I appreciate the tenure system that allows academics to pursue their intellectual curiosity, shouldn't those vying for tenure track positions be vetted for what their curiosities actually are? And further, who is approving grants for raindrop size, speed, and morphology studies?

I already knew that raindrops are not the stylized teardrop shape.
Katherine Ross. One of my first crushes.

That Firemist Gold Metallic doesn't look to far off of my Anniversary Gold Bouillon Tbird...

I-along with many others-am a bit of a traditionalist finish wise(thus, 2 'burst Birds), but that Gold is  worthy.
ETA:2 'burst 'Birds and then there's the LPB25:

My dad played sax and I did later. I get amused by videos showing someone playing a tenor while the sound is a bari.:wacky:

yeah, nice stuff. used a passive MIM PBass into a Carvin ss mixer amp with a simple 4 band EQ and it took minimal tweaking to get them to deliver. They seem very flat but the bottom seemed a little too relaxed (pillowy) for my taste. Overall a pretty impressive box..
$300 total for the two of them is a great deal. I switched to Bergantino cabs nearly two decades ago and haven looked back since, zero cab GAS. Built like a Peavey tank to last forever, super efficient speakers, perfectly voiced crossovers and only a hint of coloration on the dark side. I may be in the minority here, but I prefer rat fur. It's so much more durable than tolex and now that smoking is pretty much out of vogue you don't have to worry about it picking up off odors. Just keep it away from cats or you'll quickly have a set of $300 scratching posts.

I now understand the logic of the Hipshot D-Tuner. I tuned the couch bass to drop D last week so that I could learn Killing in the Name of (which is much easier than expected; I was probably overthinking it). But it is just a PITA to tune down to play a song then tune back up to play something else. Maybe I need another bass to have tuned to drop D.

I have a few on basses I own/have made. The cool thing is that Hipshot will convert most any tuner you send them so you can retain a matched set of paddles. My band plays "Heroes"* (speaking of DB) and we start with a D based ambient "drone" - once "...but nothing - will drive them away" I flip to E and finish in standard tuning. Very handy that.

* based on this version (including the verses in French)
