Thunderbird Club

The same year Jazz Plus with Kubicki 9v pre had no pg and came in the reverse-bursts as well as a few metallics. They were top of the line then - really nice sounding/playing basses.

I had one in burst for a while. Great sounding bass. Sort of a "dinky" jazz. Mine was was very light and I loved the Kubicki pre. Very versatile bass tone wise.

Good times! I like fixing stuff.

Out of the six cables I checked over, the 20 and 40 y/o cords are two of the four I made. (I've made more, but they walked off over the years.) One was made with whatever co-ax I could easily get; the other is heavy duty, top notch coax I bought from Lord Valve back when I was building and repairing tube amps as a side gig.

Also, it used to be that the barrels of standard 1/4 phone plugs were pretty much interchangeable. I discovered today that there is serious variation in thread sizes now. Grrr.

Its going to be a tough time for the bars/restaurants. I'm going to concentrate on recording.

Not so sure. I passed by my local brewery today to pick up some cans for home and there was a line out the door for the tap room. I think that's because of the new rule in NY. No gatherings with over 500 people, and fewer than 500 can only be at 50% capacity, hence the line. So I think they'll be fine.

We plan to eat out just as much as ever, if not more, in part to support our favorite restaurants and servers. They're all pretty savvy, and we're taking reasonable precautions (as we do every flu season).
I know some churches are cancelling services, going to livestream services or parking lot services, etc. Ours and the one I'm helping at both plan to have services tomorrow (expecting reduced attendance) so I'll be playing bass and having a blast.
