102k is .1uFd. K has not been used to denote tolerance for some time now since production processes have vastly improved.
102 = 10 plus two 0s. K equals 1000pF hence 1000 + 1000pF = 1000000pF = .000001Fd = .1uFd...
I would invest in one of these for a project like this...

Sound clips would be nice too!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

i really miss plainly marked values.

tell me about it. easier today but when taking into account older parts on older labeling conventions mistakes are commonplace...recently I spent a whole day trouble shooting a communication card at work that had a 68pF capacitor labeled 680p in place of a 680pF (correct value).:..how can procurement folks buy the right part if even us engineers are dazzled?...expensive mistakes often happen because of this..

Make sure to check the reviews on there. I have found a lot of items lately where the seller gives a $10 Amazon card for a 5 star review. I was looking for a reliable digital blood pressure monitor and so many had the "paid" reviews.

Just thought I'd check in and say "Hi" to everyone in the Thunderbird Club. Dagrev was thoughtful enough to check in with me to make sure I was okay. I AM okay - just have a lot going on in my life. All of it good! I hope everyone is doing well. I will stay in touch, and will contribute my opinions/advice/whatever if warranted.
Thunderbirds are go!

Good to see ya Glenn.

Ran the sweeps on my Goth bird, the Tone Cap measures out at 71.3 nF Here's the sweep of the neck pickup full volume, tone control at 0:

Bridge Pickup:
BridgePU T0.JPG

The peak for the neck pickup is at 426 Hz the peak for the bridge pickup is at 282 Hz, running the numbers for the resonance gives an inductance of 1.96 H for the neck and 4.46 H for the bridge.
