Thunderbird Club

When my dad was sent to Korea in 1950 he said they walked a like that had people on both sides giving shots. He and the others were getting shots as they walked the line from both sides at the same time. Fortunately that was the only way he was shot.

I recall seeing photos of that back when shots terrified me. I thought, “The enemy is not overseas. It’s right here!

Glad your dad made it back. What branch?

Wow those are some nice Schroeder cabs. I've been really curious about those recently. I really don't know anything about the brand but they seem nice and don't get as much mention around TB as some other brands.
Thanks,
Jorge was basically a frustrated bass player that decided to build his own cabs and the rest is history. A GREAT guy & easy to deal with, he built those two cabs to my demanding specs & was happy to do it, I highly recommend him!!

So happy Sunday morning all. I’ll let you have a chuckle at my expense. Just know I’m going crazy here.

The short scale arrived yesterday; it wasn’t due until Monday. No UPS issues with this purchase. But since it’s my Christmas/Birthday and pretty much everything else for awhile present, my wife and son won’t let me have any contact with it. “Wait ‘til Friday.” Really? My wife and son checked it carefully and assured me all is well. Mike the seller expertly packed it and we let him know all is good. Then my wife put a lock on the case and smiled.

Oh well, it’s not like I don’t have others to play. I’ll be a good sport, count my blessings and have a pleasant day. Negotiations will begin soon for a Christmas Eve opening.

Cobalt flats are mentioned in this club often. Now I can finally give my 2¢ (but haven't mounted them yet).

First thing I did - thanks to you guys and gals - was note that they're a little smoother than TIJF (but it's close so you might have to use a fingernail). Pleased.

Second, I noticed that they're a little more flexible than TIJFs. Surprised.

Then, I noticed that they are round core! Big surprise! (I wasn't thinking about the hex/round issue when I ordered them.)

Now suddenly optimistic that they might be an alternative to either TIJF or TIJR.

I demand a petition for an update to the Gibson Tbird. Needs chrome pickup covers and a vintage esque pick up

I would stay tuned - NAMM will be worth paying attention to, 2021 should be an interesting year.

Thanks, me too! He got a special invitation from the Army. Was in Korea for two years. Awful heat and brutal cold. He said it pretty much looked like what you saw on M.A.S.H.

One funny story. On the two week Pacific cruise over they asked the name of every person who would then be called upon to to KP and other duties no one wanted. He said he name was Edmund Vance. (Which was actually a man he knew from the country.) Ever so often he would hear that named called, with greater irritation. But avoided the awful jobs. On the way back he knew they had real food and real milk aboard ship. So he volunteered for KP duty once aboard the yacht headed home and was able to drink all the milk and eat just about all the deserts he wanted.

I hope so!
It's my birthday today, the wife wanted to get me another Thunderbird (used one from reverb that I've been looking at) but I told her I'd take a rain check until Gibby/Eppi release their new offerings in the spring. I'm really hoping they launch something exciting, otherwise I might snag a JC Gold top.

Well, Happy Birthday my friend!

Ampeg SVT Micro VR Stack vs. Fender Rumble 200?

I currently have a Fender Rumble 200 (and a Rumble 500) and they both sound great w/ my Epi T-Bird VP.

I've read alot about the magic between Ampegs and T-Birds, so been wondering if anybody has the Ampeg SVT Micro VR stack and can share some insight?
I have the SVT Macro stack (SVT-VR/Bergantino 610) and it sounds pretty awesome.

Happy Birthday good Sir!

Thunderbird wishes and dreams, may they all come true!

My wife and kids would do the same. I like your wife and son!
