Hope you don't get into the stock market, they make flippers look like beginners. Sell stock before they own it, Borrow stocks and make deals without the "owner" knowing what is going on, Bundle good/bad mortgages together and sell them off(thus hiding the bad). The whole system is confusing as hell. That being said, there are simple ways to invest and make a lot of money, just have to filter out the stuff you don't need.
Yeah. Lotto and Publishers Clearing House.:rollno:

Nah. We were just real good at making a damn fine sound with four pretty talented guys. The "Sir William's Pub" restaurant /lounge was a privately operated part of a Ramada Inn. The maybe 6" high stage was quite cramped, particularly in my area as I had my piggyback 63 Bassman right behind me, my Bari and alto saxes on stands between me and the drummer, my flute laying on the rarely used music stand, my mic stand, and, of course, ye olde TBird.
I wish there were pix/videos. Sadly, nope. All took place pre(affordable)digital.

You can tell us, Mike... did/do you like the Carpenters and Barbara Streisand... the Captain and Tennille? :bag:

Jus' messin' around, pal. :roflmao:

Hey! Carpenters were really happening back then. Streisand - well.... and The Capt and Toe I would catagorize right next to The Bay City Rollers:vomit:. Of course back then I was listening to Rush, Floyd, anything with Ozzy, CSNY, Stiff Little Fingers, Sex Pistols(when I could), The Kings, ect. There was more but you get the point :smug:

Yep. What we played and what I listened to were very different.

There's still music I'd rather not hear/be reminded of but maturing has opened my ears to styles of music I would have never thought I could appreciate when I was younger. My parents would listen to a radio station that played Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Barbra Streisand, Dion Warwick - all the 'adult' music of the late '60s/early '70s period. They didn't even have a name/category, like "adult contemporary" or whatever like they do now - we considered it the "old people music" station. Lots of string arraignments and the furthest thing from 'rock music'.

These days I love listening to a well crafted song of any genre - especially the ones that were new then and have stood the test of time. One 'stylist' who encompassed both worlds then that I only recently became aware of is this artist - I don't know if my ears would have been open to his work then.

Then there's Dusty -

I remember this song!!!! Didn't really care for it then but I was also lacking any serious relationship also. I get it now...

Funny that you would say that..When we put this band together ten years ago we put in a "no Skennerd" clause. There was too much local saturation with other local bar bands covering those tunes. We wanted to be a little different. It seems to be working for us.
Still hear to occasional Free Bird heckler...
I was in Phoenix years ago, St Patricks festivities going on. I was down town in a tent with a piper on stage, he sugested he could play anything, so the obligatory shout out for Free Bird did happen by several people including yours truly. He effing played it! The rat Bastard set us up!:roflmao:

Sell stock before they own it,
Easy to do and legal (even for a typical retail investor). You will incur either borrowing cost or expedited delivery charges
Borrow stocks and make deals without the "owner" knowing what is going on,
read your margin agreement. Brokers are allowed to dip into margin accounts to lend stock. On the other side, company officers will play the inverse games - if their stock is heavily shorted they will move personal stock from a margin account to a cash account hoping that the 'borrow' get called and initiates a short squeeze
Bundle good/bad mortgages together and sell them off(thus hiding the bad).
those are not stocks, they are securitized assets. Generally not available to run of the mill retail investors.

The Kings!? They are local to me!

All of your statements are very true. Personally I stay with my Vertical spreads on the RUT

I got my first really good job in the "mechanical drafting/design world" back in '86. Back then every design house in the Detroit area had 93.1 WLTI (4/15/85-8/10/96) on the office telecom system streaming during business hours.

I knew every damn easy listening song ever produced by heart. I crack myself up and my kids as well when I can sing along to these classics whenever one comes within earshot for whatever reason. 4 straight years of easy listening, day in and day out. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Not what I listened to on my personal time away from work by a long shot.

My fav back then was KRKN, an underground rock station that liked to play more edgy stuff, hence the punk influence.

It’s a miracle you’re still sane.
