Thunderbird Club

Yah, I also made some early eBay mistakes - but I've become a pretty saavy eBayer since and take time to consider everything in detail before buying anything. Limited pics/Blurry pics? next - three word description? next - not 100% feedback rating? next.

Same - but for the feedback, for me, less than 100% isn't necessarily a deal breaker, but it's gotta be pretty close. But, I'll look at the feedback; negative/positive, total amount, age of the feedback, years as a seller, etc.

I've been pretty lucky to not have gotten fully scammed or misled, mostly just over paying for things by getting too involved in the "bidding war" aspect.

I still struggle with that sometimes ;)

And it’s important to remember you’re not “winning” anything. You’re buying something. If you’re really lucky, you may get a bargain.

Reminded me of this.

Loved Camel when I was younger, haven’t heard it much in the last 30 years and don’t have any of their stuff on LP or CD or streaming, I’d forgotten all about them, thanks for posting the flashback.

Camel - Moon Madness; Yes - Fragile; everything by The Grateful Dead; and PF - Wish You Were Here / DSOTM were mainstays at every chemically inclined gathering I attended. To this day I still love all the trippy prog stuff even without the chemicals.
I have some vinyl. I'll have to see how many. Moon Madness is one and I actually listened to it not too long ago.
LOL - not sure how your original post was attributed to me, but it looks like I just got credit for what you said.

Great, now I guess I’m guilty of “comment appropriation” among many of the other non politically correct things I’m supposedly guilty of.

Oh well, it’s Thunderbird Thursday, might as well grab a bird and flog it…

Oops, wrong bird!

This should be better…

I liked PF pre-drugs, but really fell in love during, and that’s when DSOTM came out. Interestingly, most of tge music I loved best high, tripping, etc., I still love. Not all, but most, from PF to the Dead to Hawkwind to ABB to …

I really didn't care for PS in the day. Thought it was music for weirdos and acid heads. (Some truth there I suppose.) Not for me even when I was into undocumented pharmaceuticals. Not an aficionado by any stretch but I was thinking the early stuff was just downright odd. But I have come to appreciate a fair amount of their music now. Love David Gilmore's is playing. In fact when I concentrate or read I have several hour long recordings of just his guitar playing and solos which are fantastic.

AFA 100% positive feedback, remember there are people who'd bitc...er, complain if ya hung 'em with a new rope.

Very weird. A few of them got messed up.

7 Things You Should Never Do With a Magic Eraser
 • Don't use them dry. ...
 • Don't use them to polish your car (or any delicately painted surface) ...
 • Don't use them without gloves. ...
 • Don't use them to clean delicate countertops. ...
 • Don't use them to wipe down nonstick pots and pans. ...
 • Don't try to brighten stainless steel.
Found this on the interwebs ... as it is not advised for stainless steel, it may not be the best for frets. Fine (1000) emory paper works to polish frets.
That's six.

There were at least two made!

Seriously though, since when is a musical instrument's ability to be dropped a criterion for quality - Pianos don't seem to take that sort of abuse well. Brass or woodwinds?

The piano I saw flip out of a pickup truck squealing around a corner sure didn't.

Not sure what they mean about the truss rod responding. I tried conversing with all of mine and no matter how loud I yelled none of them responded.
As for $25 shipping - I’d need to ask the seller if he’s shipping it insured and packing it to prevent damage.

Just scribbling your address on the back and handing it across the counter?

That must have sounded like nothing else!
I never cease to be amused when drivers screw up carrying something large, fragile, or both; drive the same way they always do, then lose or damage their 'cargo'. For example(s):running freeway speeds with a mattress/boxspring tied on the roof with twine. If you're running 70mph, that's just under hurricane force wind. And yet they can't believe their new bed is on the side of the road.:rollno: Making sharp, too fast turns with something top heavy in the back then being shocked when it falls over-even inside the vehicle. Driving an econo-box then trying to cram a 60" flat screen into it.

It really did! The poor upright bounced back, top, front, making glorious sounds with each crash. Wood and ivory everywhere. You know the piano at the end of the Beatles’ A Day in the Life? That sounds like a gentle, pure flute note in comparison.
Strap those things in, people, and don’t try to beat the light going downhill round a corner with one in the back of your mini pickup!
Martin and I were laughing so hard we couldn’t stand up. The driver slammed on the brakes, backed up, got out to look, was horrified, jumped back in his truck and took off.

A little super glue and duct tape, all woulda been OK. Oh. And some furniture scuff remover.
Did it have that "angry piano "sound?
