Thunderbird Club

wow....

sorry, it's not Thunderbird related, but The Warning just released their new single/video, Evolve......

wow.....
Great clip! The drummer is a beast, loved the sound on that PRS guitar and am always up for a Spector bass. Vocals all great as well. I’m gonna need to start watching more of them.

Evolve is the second track from their upcoming 3rd album - they're one of very few bands that haven't put out a song I don't like

Does anyone else just put a song on repeat to help learn a part? I started working on "Panic Switch" (SSPU) last night. Nikki is just a machine on that THUNDERBIRD when she wants to be. I want to nail it all- timing, notes, intensity, tone. I've found one of the best ways for me is to have a song so ingrained in my being that I don't have to think about the part, it's just there, and I just have to keep going until I flow with it. So far I've been listening for two hours, and the song just gets better as I catch new nuances.

I've been using this little thing for years, you can manage speed, pitch and has a little eq section. You can also loop, but I never used it. Has its limits, but works well enough.

So, if I call my local, they will tell me that it is in but they can't let me have it yet because it isn't released. As good and helpful as my local L&M is, they will stick to the rules on release dates and other contractual obligations (which is the right thing to do).
You could tell them to release yours or you'll tell the world they have them in the back room and then they'll hafta prepare for the invasion of 8-9 TBird lovers.

They might be cross-border Tbird lovers and if everything I hear on the news is correct, then are all super-spreaders of the United/American/Delta disease.

I have personally never run across a hammer that needed fixin'.
Believe it nor not they can require fixing. I could never stand for it to not be perfectly smooth. They can actually get slightly roughed up on face at times and need smoothing for finish work. Assuming the same hammer is used for other things like framing or forms for concrete. Then there's the wood handle which I tended to shape just a little as a matter of preference. But that's not really fixing anything. Occasionally handles would break (when someone would use the hammer as a pry bar, and new wood handle can be fitted. I doubt anyone does this anymore. Never liked fiberglass handles and I took care of my main hammer and it lasted through construction years and is with me today. Ok, this is way more than anyone wanted to know about hammers.;)

bad link, but I don’t have Windows, anyway. Thanks, though.

Didn't work with Windows either.
You know maybe it's just as well--depends on where the link goes. It's possible with some people  it could be a fake link that takes you to a watermelon porn site.

*You have to make sure to put the "water" part in or the thread might get shut down.

Apologies. Didn't mean to open such a controversial topic...

I use Reaper for practice. Load each song into its own track, mute all except the one you’re practicing, right click on the track and open the properties window. There you can adjust time/pitch (among many other things) as well as apply EQ and other effects.
I set up a separate file for each band/gig I’m practicing for.

I have used (and still use the Amazing Slower Downer.

In the android store it is inexpensive and the paid version allows you to connect to spotify. It does all the usual slowing, shifting ect. but connecting to spotify is really useful (to me).

I was wondering how that compares with the 60’s NRs.
That's why I'm not getting a new one. That extra 1/8th inch nut width would kill me.(<that statement may not be entirely true:rolleyes:):bag:
EDIT: I don't have anything to accurately measure the thickness at the first fret, but it looks to be 13/16ths". Keep in mind I just had my eyes examined yesterday, glasses are 10 business days away.
