Thunderbird Club

Up on the roof today for flag pole duty, don't ever doubt about Seattle's ability to do gray, grey, grau, gris, il grigio, harmaa.

The tower in the center is King Street Station (ex Great Northern, Northern Pacific - Mike), to it's immediate right is part of Lumen Field (Seahawks), from where I work 4 blocks away you can easily hear the crowd inside on game day.

Cool that they didn't tear it down, which has happened to many.

You forgot to write GRÅ (= grey in swedish) Swedish is my mother language, as for about 5% of us Finns.
I’m now in Dusseldorf, and also here it is grey, but still quite warm. Back in Finland we get the first snow already, in the north… Just talked to my wife, it’s about 0 degrees in Espoo and raining…
6 weeks and that will be the weather here.

Two factor helped that, one, it's one the historical register (as is my work) and two, it's currently very heavily used by Amtrak and the Regional Transportation Authority for commuter heavy rail trains.

Oct 30 (also happens to be the drummer's, Keyboardist/Guitarist's and my b'day!!) Halloween Party sets....:bassist:

I wish it were as simple as that - no.., their own records state the correct address. I call driver criminal.

you could be right, of course, but their records will have the correct address wherever it gets delivered. We mostly get good drivers here, but a year or teo ago, I had three packages, on three different days, delivered to another street. FX, of course, had my address as where they were delivered.

I got involved in a project during the late 70's and the band had a money backer/producer from then Yugoslavia who had had some success producing singles in England. He sent us to a studio in Stommeln, Germany called Dieter Dierks Studio. It turns out he was The Scorpion's producer or engineer at that time or something like that and Schenker had left a lot of his equipment in the studio like AC-30's for recording which our guitarist drooled over being a big Michael Schenker fan. We recorded 'Try Me' by UFO on the album which i liked better than the original actually. the album never got picked up though, i lost my copy which was low quality as i believe the money backer never paid the studio after his failure to secure a recording contract but I thought I was going to be a rock star for a few months.
They flew us over there three times, beautiful studio for those times, 24 track with 46 track capability. Two separate studios in the building, they even had their own hotel with room service which we of course abused and a nice little bar right next door.
Barry Palmer who had been the lead singer for a progressive rock band in Germany called Triumvirat who had just left the band and was in the other studio with a German band asked us to be his back up band in England when he went back, I was ready to jump at it but no one else wanted to, oh well. I thought he had a great voice.

He does a nice cover of McCartney's 'Maybe I'm Amazed' here.

Sorry things never went anywhere, but you have cool stories!

I saw Triumvirat with Fleetwood Mac and Jefferson Starship on Halloween night, 1974. Triumvirat didn’t leave much of an impression. FM had a really good set despite the lack of Messrs. Green, Kirwan, and Spencer. Starship killed it. That’s the only time I can recall seeing Papa John Creech live (though a friend later got him to record with her.)

Fleetwood Mac with Bob Welch? I loved that iteration of the band, in fact that was the last Fleetwood Mac I really liked. JA and Starship was also among my favorites. Triumvirat 1974 was before Barry Palmer, I don't actually know that much about them.

Some of it was really good, but there was earlier material he wasn’t a great fit for. I also saw FM in late 75, the first Buck/Nicks tour. They were really good, although that was the last FM album I really liked.

@JIO
Just kicking around different ideas right now so no action required on your part other than a confirmation if you’re interested.

I love your guild guitar finishes (again so sorry to hear about the FedEx fiasco, especially after seeing that body in person). I was wondering if you would be interested in doing one of your gold leaf type finishes on just a thunderbird pickguard? I’ll most likely be working with @Engle on some artwork for the pickguard but thought it might be interesting to have that artwork installed on a custom Guildaxe guard. Is that something that you’d consider doing? If so we can work all the details off line.

Saw these out in the wild today. The red one is still priced at $1799. The blue one says $1899. If anyone is looking, these are at the Taylorsville Guitar Center, in SLC, Utah.

I’m happy there are still some in the wild!

my burgundy may not available for a few months, but I’m guaranteed the price I paid for my green one.

I feels just kinda ok, I’m wondering if it could be better.

My reverse body has it at the heel and I like it.

My “others” are TeleBirds and Telexplorers and they have heel mounted buttons. AND I position the strap over the body when I play them.

I have a reverse with the button at the heel, I would think that Gibson put it the way it is for a reason. Most Gibson are at the heel, I have an EB4-L here and when I sit down playing it the strap has passed over the front of the body a few times and it does support the neck better but I use big wide 3" and 4" straps to prevent neck dive.
