Are those supposed to be more attracted to magnets than regular nickel rounds?
If so, I’ll have to make sure never to get them near my 2015 bird.

Yes. John Gustafson was Roxy Music's session bassist from "Stranded" 'til (and including) "Siren". He didn't tour with them until 1975.

One of my favourite sessions of his is on Shawn Phillips' "Furthermore" (1974). Quatermass (1970) is of course a prog classic.

got lucky to come across a rare matched duet of yugoslavian made 6CA7s (american nomenclature for the EL-34)…..putting them through the paces (bandwidth/gain/power) in my modified Dynaco tube test bed….

She has been to Wicked a couple of times but not me, her sister went to that with her. She loved La La Land, went to that by herself, but I watched it with her when it came out on streaming or DVD, I also watched with her the Disney thing with the frogs in New Orleans with a jazz club.

You are a good Dad. My wife goes to the musicals with friends while I stay home and take care of the dogs. And play Thunderbirds.

Wintery! We have lots of (needed) rain in the Bay Area for a change... but it's not particularly picturesque.

Has anyone shipped a Thunderbird recently (or had one shipped to you)? If so, do you remember the cost? I think Willy got a great deal on his Greco Bird shipping.

Last used one was around $200 via UPS coast to coast.

My '64 II with two original/factory .02Z/50Vcaps

Middle pu pot installed in '86 - I'm embarrassed to say I did the soldering then ~ very sloppy ... but it works! I followed a hand-written letter from Seymour Duncan for correct wiring. Wish I still had that letter!

!!! that's high! I ship basses UPS a lot and the most I ever paid was around $100 insured. Was that for expedited delivery?

I like this, it's a bit raw, just the way rock should be.

It is among my favorites from her.

I agree. Rock needs that raw emotion to really connect, IMO. Patti's version is by far my favorite with 10,000 Maniacs being my least. Natalie Merchant can sing, no doubt. But her version doesn't seem to have real emotion behind it. All of this is just my opinion, of course.

It’s pretty awesome when the boss does it.
