thinly veiled
political jabs
Agreed, and I'm 54. Some of this is just thinly veiled (at best) political jabs--which is not something I saw in the dad band threads.
I, too, failed to see any "Selfish Taxpayer and the Chicken Hawks", or "The Trickle Down Fantasy Band", or "The Still Pretty Okay with Segregation and Sexism Project" band names posted on the dad band thread....
You do realize this is a "humorous" flipside to the "humorous " dad band threads, right?boy...the hate on young people will NEVER stop, huh? This (mostly) from a generation that once sang "Hope I die before I get old"...now it makes total sense.
PS...I'm middle aged
PPS...actually "middle aged" like "in the middle of my life"...not "boomer middle aged" which now means 70, I think
You do realize this is a "humorous" flipside to the "humorous " dad band threads, right?
This made me come up with a good one: The We Can Dish it OutsGen X here too...I feel the same way. The only thing I noticed about Millennials was that they often refused to be mistreated in the labor force the same way we did (that and their college loans were something like 5x higher then ours were).
It's gone past the whole "good natured ribbing" thing and into actual abuse based on birth year. We wouldn't let TB host an [insert ethnic group] Band Name thread. Why this?

Except that's not a generational thing. DUH!!You do realize that "Dad Bands" are a thing...and that "Tide Pod Generation" is not?
But, hey...since it's all if "fun" how about this joke:
Q: "What do entitled boomer cranks smell like?"
A: "Depends"

So your band is The Blamers?I’m 16 and you think I’d be in a band like “the offended pretend players gone too far” or “tide pod Johnny and the fidget spinners” yes, some losers are like that but I’m not one of those squares!!! You losers put this on us. You went around making things easier for future generations and then complain that we have it too easy! You told us we could be anything and do what we want and then you complain that people act strangely and do weird stuff. We are the result of you and your millennial children’s doing!!!
You forgot that the young have always hated the old, too.Reading this thread is like accidentally wondering into a retirement home full of angry flatulent crackheads with dementia.
Old people have always hated the young, they just didn't have the internet in the past, so they were easier to ignore. I say let them shout about 'snowflakes' and 'entitlement' and whatever, once they're done ranting they'll just get tired and go off to bed and quietly break wind until they drift off to sleep anyway.
You must be in "The Strawmen".Retail Clerk: I'm sorry but we just sold out of [Whatever item you're looking for]
Millennial: No worries! Thank you anyway
Baby Boomer: I DEMAND TO TALK TO THE MANAGER RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!
Hmmmmm I'm sorry but who's entitled? ;D
That's some rich irony, there.I think it’s really about the generation which is writing the posts. The need to feel superior to somebody while aging and fading into meaninglessness.
That would be a pretty good name for a band. You must be in "The Strawmen".![]()
nothing makes you sound older than whining about the young.
many of my generation (Gen X I suppose) complained about milennials
I worked with a bunch of millennials, none ever seemed to fit the profile
Just to play devil's advocate, you're making assumptions about your percentage AND that they know nothing about young people.+1
Well-said! Old men making assumptions about things and people they know nothing about is about 60% of TB.com.
