Tool tone/FX sticky thread ver. 1

Update

I had Long & McQuade rep( kinda like a Canadian Sweetwater/Guitar Center) personally contact the Dunlop Canada wide purchaser to see if he could get some answers because Dunlop wasn't returning my emails.
Here is the reply.

"Hi Dean,

Dunlop has confirmed that they are working on something, and the release date is currently set for November! More details will be available then. Hope that helps!

Warm regards"

Stay tuned.

So we have this description. Does this mean it combines fuzz, wah, and essentially the BR-2 filter? If so, I wasn't expecting that (not that I've followed all that closely).

"The Cry Baby Justin Chancellor Wah combines three of Justin’s favorite ways to explore tones and craft soundscapes—the fluid expressiveness of a custom midrange filter, the bright aggression of a custom wah circuit, and the chainsaw grind of a vintage fuzz.

• Combines three of Justin Chancellor’s epic effects into a single pedal
• U.K. Filter, inspired by his bass’ tone circuit, sounds thick and voice-like
• Modified Cry Baby Wah sounds lush and aggressive
• Vintage U.K.-style fuzz that can be paired with either mode or operated independently
• Customize the two rocker modes with Volume and Q controls
• Customize intensity, level, and EQ of fuzz mode
• Includes Pedal Topper to allow for simultaneous engagement of rocker and fuzz modes"

I sure hope they did add the MXR BEF circuit. I have the pedal and its not that good for Tool.

It’s interesting because it’s almost worded like it’s the filter like what’s included in a Wal on board pre-amp tone control? I do not own a Wal but was just reviewing the description on their website. Not sure how that would translate into a pedal though. Especially coming that late in a pedal chain. So I think it has to be more related to the Envelope style filter.

agreed and considering it’s meant to be “all approved” by Justin chancellor (from what I can tell of the comments about him testing the prototype - I doubt they’d include the mxr version if it not good for tool

Yea, Sweetwater jumped the gun on pre-orders. Wasn't supposed to start until Nov 1st.
I squeeked in just in time to get one from first batch.

Nice. I'm jealous as hell. Also, fair play to Sweetwater for honoring the accidental pre-orders.

Post a demo as soon as you get it. I just switched jobs (commission) so my next big expense is either going to see Tool or in Boston or this pedal. :bassist::hyper:
