To me, typical Talkbass is finding a way to be “Leo got it right the first time - you don’t need anything more than a P and/or J” while also fawning over the advancements made by Fodera, Sadowsky, Mike Tobias, etc.

I agree making fun of them is not the best, but be clear - grammar and punctuation mistakes make the writer appear uneducated.

TalkBass is the greatest forum to ever grace the interwebs. Especially all the experienced musicians offering advice to newbie hacks like me. For the most part it's a very welcoming place with a very low troll population.

Every P & J thread makes me want to put on my PJ's and eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, though.

If only I could actually practice on my bass and surf the forums at the same time my life would be perfect.

I agree. It's not like an entire position should hinge on grammar. Then again, it's hard to contest ones position when you lack a 4th grade education.

I would add one to the “negative” list above (kind of touched on already a bit, but):

Chiming in on page 20 of a thread, w/o reading anything past the OP, thus either repeating something that has been said 50 times already, or thinking you are beginning a conversation, when in fact it has already passed you by 18 pages before.
(At least skim so you have an idea what’s happening, please!)

+1. My Squier jbass crushes every Fodera bass I’ve come across, and it didn’t cost me 17-grand.

It’s in the hands man. I can make my Squier sound like an unlined 6-string fretless Minimoog, just gotta stay off this forum and actually PRACTICE.

I guess most haven't encountered it yet as I have. People are quoting people and tagging their response with, "typical talkbass." I think @Stevorebob got what I meant right out of the gate. It seems like an arrogant, demeaning, and childish putdown people are starting to enjoy using.

I vote that anyone using those words is instantly banned !!!!!! If someone doesn't like it here, well...

Kinda reminds me of gui****, but its a little different... gui**** was just stupid. This is stupid and arrogant.
