fourstringbliss, I know I sorta promised you that I wouldn't ask any stupid questions on the forum, but after snorting the automotive-grade paint thinner I used on a bass for the last two hours, I have one I doubt has been asked before:
How many stickers could a sticker-sticker stick if a sticker-sticker could stick stickers?
The answer, my bassic friends is 31. Tonight, I removed 31 stickers and a half pint of brushed on flat black paint from a distraught bass in need, to reveal a beautiful metallic green Aria. The post-repair test play (my fave step) was pure four string bliss.
Late last summer I spent much of an evening in Oak Harbor, WA. peeling and soaking stickers off of a black T-40. I spend more time removing stickers from basses than I do repairing them, sometimes.
Here is where I insert the stupid statement in the form of a country song:
"Mothers don't let your bassists grow up to stick stickers"
