Nice score, man. Looks like a warhorse. Really like the wood PU rings.....slim them down front to back, radius the edges, a little sanding, black leather dye, some spray lacquer and there you are!
Received this TL-5 today and it looks, plays, sounds as good as the pics. A true Trans-Purple. I missed a beautiful Trans-Blue 1st model TL-5 on New Orleans craigslist for $320 because the guy's phone "Is not in service at this time". Finally got an e-mail reply after no response for a week that it had sold. That afternoon this showed up on Epay for about the same amount shipped as with my travel for the Blue and the price of the good NO meal I didn't get. Got a good gig bag with it I wasn't expecting, too. Came with a Bartolini NTMB-918 preamp installed that didn't work due to installation problems and the original preamp. The original preamp is back in it so now I have something else that needs a home. Serendipity strikes again.

Sure thing. There's no case mentioned so double boxed with bubblewrap or chips looks likely. Based on previous experience, shipping to the US will likely add at least $120.

I've spoken with the owner quite a few times and he's upbeat about it. Bought it 5 years back for £120,played many gigs with it. He got his money's worth out of it.
There was a lovely Zephyr 5 (made in Vietnam) sold a few hours later for £209.

If anyone wants to know for future reference, the 90s Peavey Forums use tuning machines that are easily replaceable with Hipshot HB-1 tuners.
SWEET BASS,. I also have the same color in a 91... and I also have a 92 Sarzo. Both are in excellent shape.
I noticed. They are very hard to find information about. I will try to take some when I get home.
It is the passive PJ version of the Fury. Same neck, same body, probably the same electronics. It just has a jazz pickup and the jack is on the bottom.
I find the thinner body and jazz like neck very comfortable.
I would want one of those for sure. Unfortunately I have to find another band to play something like that in. Mine just had the plug pulled.
I think I am going to try to go back to punk for my next band, the beat up condition of all 3 of my peaveys is super appropriate, I think the fury would be the #1, this one is pretty punk rock.
The P pickup is pretty strong and modern sounding. There is something going on with the J pickup on mine. The volume on it is super low and sounds like an AM radio. Either the pickup is shot, the pot is shot, or the wiring is messed up.
I could see it being good for a bright Punk tone.
I've always found there's a volume drop between P & J. With the J being close to the bridge it has less string vibration to work with. AM radio though ain't the strings fault 
I've had lots of PJ basses, this is something different than the usual voicing differences. It is very quiet. If you roll off the mid pickup there is hardly any volume at all and it has no low end to it at all.I've always found there's a volume drop between P & J.
