Taking that idea and pushing the envelope farther, what about a powered tiltback cab with one empty rack space on top? Just stuff the power section of one of your medium-powered heads into the cab, and provide a 1/4" input that can accept either balanced or unbalanced preamp signals, with a switch for 0.7v, 1.0v, or 1.4v sensitivity.
That way a nearly endless selection of preamps could be used, in a very convenient small-gig format.
Hmm....I like this idea. I do wonder though if it might be a little esoteric. Do you think there is a good market for something like this?
