The Tourists were a British rock and pop band. They achieved brief success in the late 1970s before the band split in 1980. Two of its members, singer Annie Lennox and guitarist Dave Stewart, went on to international success as the Eurythmics.

In 1990, Supertramp member Roger Hodgson was approached by Yes to join them as lead vocalist, but he declined the offer. One of the songs he co-wrote with Trevor Rabin, "Walls", appears on Yes's 1994 Talk album, with lyrics revised by Jon Anderson. A version of "Walls" with only Hodgson and Rabin on vocals was released on Rabin's 2003 archival release 90124.

The Dream Theater album Images and Words, released in 1992, was recorded at Bear Tracks Studios, a recording studio in upstate New York that was owned by Spyro Gyra saxophonist Jay Beckenstein. Beckenstein himself plays the soprano saxophone on the track Another Day, a ballad that guitarist John Petrucci wrote for his ailing father.

Than to be with another man
You better keep your head, little girl
Or I won't know where I am
Baby, Let’s Play House lyrics
Now listen to me baby
Try to understand
I’d rather see you dead, little girl
Than to be with another man
Now baby
