Correct. Also, dairy cows live much shorter lives, due to tremendous stress and guess where they are sent when the are "worthless"???While obviously it's your own choice and i'm not in any position to tell you what decisions to make, i would argue that the horrible conditions that cows have to endure in factory farms during the milking process are indeed painful.
And as someone earlier on in this thread brought up, rennett which is found in most cheeses (being the inner lining of a baby cow's stomach) is somewhat inarguably non-vegetarian friendly![]()
I'm in the same boat.
I have never, EVER tasted a faux meat that was anywhere close to the real thing. That's not to say that I haven't found some of it tasty, but NO. WAY. MAN. Not even close.
And seriously, veggie dogs taste way better than real hotdogs.
Agreed! I think they taste much better.
I'm curious, just starting to get into Bands and stuff..is it hard to stick to only Veggies, when you're on the road, [who knows where you stop, who knows what there is to eat?]

Not really, ime. If you have to eat fast food, at Subway there are veggie subs, Taco Bell has bean burritos, Burger King has a veggie burger, side salads etc.
You can always bring along apples, granola bars, nuts, etc. Those travel well.
One of the best favors you can do for yourself is not eat at fast food places on tour anyway. Stick to eating at grocery stores and the quality of food will be much better. I treat touring like a physical challenge; the better you eat the longer it will take lack of sleep and exertion to get to you.
It's great playing in bands with multiple/all vegetarians too, especially if anyone's vegan.

Oh, I guess I'll take a number!
Last week camping with my girlfriend in Malibu we wanted to make something we could BBQ. Whats better camping food than street dogs? You know the carnivores love their bacon wrapped hot dogs... so we bought some veggie dogs and wrapped them in some veggie bacon with a little BBQ sauce and some grilled onions & peppers. Masterpiece!

im a veg but eat fish/eggs and i eat organic turkey only on thanksgiving
I have decided not to eat animal products since age 7. I agree with the last post my lead guitarist is a vegetarian witch is good because we order in a lot during practices. Can I haz number?
Count me in. Number, please! Is the list in the op up to date?
Anyways, I've been a vegetarian for about 4 years now and don't miss the meatz at all. Most people (including my band mates) don't know about that, but I guess there's no need to tell the whole world.
I like cooking and do it every so often for my family, but my brother is one of those hardcore carnivores who won't touch anything if it has no dead things in it.
My reason for becoming a vegetarian was the obvious one. As of now, I don't feel like I'll ever go back to eating meat again. Haven't had any withdrawal symptoms the first few days/weeks/months either, I know some people who gave up because of those... Scary.
Meat is murder.
Meat eaters stink of death.![]()
