Cool thread. While I am not a strict vegetarian, I am on a long-term weight loss diet and have cut way back on meat consumption. I have found that as I continue, I am eating less and less meat. In addition to health and caloric issues, I have problems with meat industry practices regarding both food handling and animal treatment, so who knows where this will go. Reading here inspired me to download a lentils and rice recipe at http://allrecipes.com/. It was pretty good.
Thanks guys! I have to say its been relatively easy for me this far. My gf has been veg for 11 years now, and while she isnt the reason I crossed over, its definitely made things easy for me. So, thanks to her for that!
good job! i coincidentally met two girls that became intertwined in my life (romantically and obsessively[shudder]) when i became a vegetarian. turns out they were vegetarians too! lucky me
one of them is in my life AND she likes cooking (and band photography); made it so much easier.
but even without the support, it's so much easier than you woulda thunk amirite![]()
. I did it because it was something I had wanted to do, tried doing when I was younger, and had failed at because I wasnt really in control of the food cooked in my household. If it were something I didnt want to do for myself I had plenty of options to cheat, but being that I DID want to stop eating meat its been a breeze. I dont even know if I would like the taste of meat now, though it does sometimes smell good.Absolutely. My gf never asked me to go vegetarian. We had fallen for each other and were dating for a few months before I made the change. I ate meat around her and she never gave me any beef for it. Way to go guys! The both of you, its been so long! Hopefully in another 16 years I'll be saying the same thing (not like it'll be hard or anything).
Haven't had meat since 1981 but have never played naked. Like the thread and the way of life!

Is this club still going? I am going on ten months. Anyone know any comfortable shoes that aren't skinny width (converse, macbeth, trust me I look dumb in skinny shoes)? I usually wear a skate style shoe but I haven't been able to find much in the way of footwear since changing my life style.
vans
crocs
canvass converse hightops
Thats pretty much what I wear for non-leather shoes.
Fetusyolk said:of course it's still going, you can grab a number- in regards to the footwear i don't quite see your problem, i wasn't aware leather was a big thing in skatewear.
