There is a lot of business involved in what Vic chooses im sure...I mean as great as he is, I am sure every dollar counts...

Its not like he is making Daryl Jones money....

Ah the classic late 80's GK RB800 Hartke rigs I just played through one it brought back some memories let me tell you...
Lots of companies still have these as thier backline...

ok, I didnt go back and read all the posts, so I'm not sure what was covered and what wasn't, but here's what i know to be fact, as I got it for the source himself, and this is as of 4-1-08...

victor's endorsment deal with ampeg ran out, I do not know why...
on his current tour is trying out every amp that he can, along with Anthony, his tech and tour bass player,which includes hartke. I'm not sure which show but he had used them and had a lot of nice things to say about them.
when I saw the show in philly he was using Bag End while Ant used Aggie's.
Vic stated the company he decides to go with will have some to do with the tone of course, but he also wants to go with a company he feels a good connection with, a personal relationship. Jim Bergantino built some custom cabs just for vic to try, as of philly he had not tried them, but I know he was looking forward to it.
hopefully this clears a few things up, and I hope the pissing contests stop, as this isnt the place for it. we should all learn from each other, and then form our own opinions based on personal experience, but then again it's not like this hasnt been said before.......

Sorry, was short on time!!

That and the old artist rep is no longer with them, who was pivotal in developing the program and really putting Ampeg in front of players again.

But since the buy-out and now that everything is made overseas, that combined with the lack of customer service that even artist were NOT getting, it just all fell apart from what I understand.
Guys who once supported the artist program are gone and the new guys don't stand behind it.

Sad really. Ampeg is (was??) sorta the default go to "All American Bass Amp".
