That is the same bass.
The previous owner is the nicest guy, Mick, who resides in Ireland... nothing like having a cold pint of Guiness after playing the bass!
Love this MKI!!
Thanks Guys!
Congrats!! That's a rare bass

That red mkI is the poop! congrats....
It has now been two weeks since I have touched a Wal.... I think I'll email paul tomorrow to ask him how life is going. in two weeks it will have been 1 year since I placed the order.
Nice! So, when you order, do you have to pay up front or half up front? Just curious. I'd love to own a Wal someday, but the high cost keeps me away. You know because I'm poor. LOL

Prices start at £3850 for a build. To start an order you have to place a deposit of £500 (you can do more if you want). Payments are then staggered.
On a business trip, brought me a little souvenir from a trip across the pond...
Olive facings with red gloss - but you can see the details of the wood, Mahogany body..
Now waiting for my MKII order to be completed has become a little more bearable.
please post more pics maedros. is that a new build? if so, was yours an up charge Birdseye top?
Not a new build, it was the one I got off Bassdirect maybe a month ago, it's a 1990 in pristine condition. Apparently it was owned by a collector who didn't play bass and it never left the case, there's not a mark on it, I'm pretty friggin happy with it. I'll get more pics tonight if I can!
I've had my new MkI for a few weeks now, figured it was time to post a picture. It's the one on the right, curly birdseye maple with a light coloured ebony fretboard. Picture is kinda crappy, maybe I'll try to get another one tonight.

I think it's time for a drive up to Montreal....Too bad you can't make the Toronto GTG I'm doing March 15, I'd love to hear and play a Wal bass.

There are a few guys on here from around Toronto, I think I'm planning a trip down this summer, is your GTG bass related? I'm a pretty serious foodie and there are a couple of restaurants I want to check out (Momofuku, Scarpetta, etc).
Can anyone tell me where I can get replacement knobs for my MK1, the numbers are dulled and can't quite see them.
The GTG is all bass related, guys from around TO or other parts like London, Oshawa, etc. Whomever can make the drive out will be there.
Last time one guy brought a home made all tube amp head, the sound was Thunderous...! Another guy brought a new Acoustic 360 amp, others have brought their own handbuilt basses, etc.
Lots of nice basses, amps, good networking opportunity for people, and some bring stuff to sell as well.
