It apparently has a new recording of Solaris on it and I'm dying to hear it. I'm thinking that maybe the Mk 2 in the photograph makes an appearance on this new recording.

So yours is about a late '81 then? As they transitioned from the Pro models to the Custom models, they were simply using up old necks with the paddle headstock. Same with that chrome bridge.
That volume pot with the off switch was also a short lived feature.

My old 1982 MKI (also Lacewood as yours) did not have the off switch in the vol knob!

Also our serial #'s were very close, so it could have been 1982 they stopped using it!

We were only like 7 numbers apart and both signed off on by Greg, very surprising that one would have it and the other not. Knarleybass mentioned earlier that his '83 had the on/off switch, which makes it even odder that your earlier bass did not.

hey. as of now, I'm almost a year in. I think I got my neck pic around 7-8 months into the process. I still think about it every day, but I don't obsess over it. it'll get done. one day :)
