Nice bass. I can vouch for the seller, FWIW. He sold me one of his Status basses earlier in the year and he was a solid guy.

This is the one I agreed to pick up locally from the same seller in February who backed out on me at the last second after going with another buyer.... I wonder why it’s up again
What was the price he agreed to?
At the time it was the listed price of 8,000
And its marked sold now
Wow $3000 more.....I guess that is pretty tempting for some. I had a DB do that to me for only a couple hundred extra, when I was on my way to the bank.
If the trus rod is not broken or damaged you should be able toset up the action ridiculously low. If the price is right buy it and send it to Wal in the UK for a good set up. Those Wal basses of the 80’s sound awesome.Hi there,
Today I have tried an eighties Wal MK1 that is for sale in my area. Mahogany core, olive ash facings, rosewood fretboard. Around 10 lbs.

The V shape of the neck is quite surprising at first. The controls are truly unique and I had never heard such sounds, it is very interesting.
What concerns me is the setup. The neck is straight but the action is too high for my taste, I did not have a ruler, but it was above 3mm. The neck already has a shim and the saddles are bottomed out. The basses that I have already owned in that price range allowed for excellent setups with low action if desired (MTD, Ken Smith, F, Elrick...).
I have decided to pass on the bass but if anyone has an opinion on the setup of these basses, it would be nice to hear.
Did Paul use a different shim on the neck heel?
If the neck is re angled there is no need for a shim in the neck pocketDid Paul use a different shim on the neck heel?
The price was €3500 so it was snapped quickly
Well... up close, the cosmetic condition of the bass was rough.
I had planned on coming home with it but I was skeptical about the setup at that price point.
That's why I asked for advice here but I did not get replies about the setup for days, so it sold.
Niceeeee
