This is the one I agreed to pick up locally from the same seller in February who backed out on me at the last second after going with another buyer.... I wonder why it’s up again
Wow $3000 more.....I guess that is pretty tempting for some. I had a DB do that to me for only a couple hundred extra, when I was on my way to the bank.

I am wondering if I sneaked into this club with one of the last "decently" priced Wals. I am sure there will still be some nice direct person to person sales, maybe some older Wals that need TLC at the occasional lower price but it seems as if we are witnessing a price hike in the used market.

If the trus rod is not broken or damaged you should be able toset up the action ridiculously low. If the price is right buy it and send it to Wal in the UK for a good set up. Those Wal basses of the 80’s sound awesome.
If the neck is re angled there is no need for a shim in the neck pocket

Like shelly says, as long as the rod isn't broken the neck setting is no problem to sort out.
3,500 Euro is a steal indeed. Nice facings on that one. Here's my own 1987 Olive Ash Mk1, which I just picked up from having frets re-installed this past weekend (it began life fretted, but was fretless when I acquired it at the end of June). After 30 years of wishing, I'm so excited to finally own one of these gorgeous instruments.
Well... up close, the cosmetic condition of the bass was rough.
I had planned on coming home with it but I was skeptical about the setup at that price point.

With Wals.....if you're going to meet up or deal locally....its best to buy now and ask questions later. My only added comment is to make sure its not stolen if prices seems a bit under market value.
